JBs are super cool... this one is period. But I鈥檒l get one of these new ones as they will expand up to 21mm so I can have one for my professionals too!

This may be hyped (or will become) but I actually really really like this re-release and update if the quality is top notch and it looks like the one in the photos. I am definitely getting one 馃榾馃榾

Interesting! Any idea about the price?

Interesting from here : https://forstnerbands.com/products/forstner-jb-astronaut-band

Forstner is re-releasing its most iconic product, the "Komfit" mesh watch band, worn famously by many astronauts during the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs. We've dubbed this band the "JB" in honor of the Jacoby Bender version that also helped popularize the model.

We've honored the original design to ensure that it still has all the characteristics that gave vintage versions the cult following they deserve, including the unique mesh style, the quick adjustment that allows for a perfect fit, and the front-facing clasp. We improved some things as well, in particular, making the band fit perfectly the watch with which it was typically worn in the 1960s -- the Omega Speedmaster. No longer is there a "gap" between the end link and the watch lugs; the band is now adjustable between 16 and 21mm (instead of the prior 16-19mm). And, the band is slightly wider at 16mm vs. 15mm in the prior version, to accommodate the wider end piece.

We are planning to offer in two sizes - the original, which fits wrists starting at approximately 6.5 inches in circumference, and short, which will fit smaller sized wrists.

Stay tuned for updates!

Totally dig my vintage one!

Hello! I鈥檓 the owner of Forstner Bands. Thanks so much for finding us! I鈥檇 be happy to answer any questions you have about the JB bracelet that鈥檚 incoming.

To answer a couple that I saw here, we indeed are making a curved end version. It likely will be available within a month or two after the straight end version (which itself is about 2 months out). We have a few other things in the pipeline as well.

If you鈥檝e seen the site, you can probably tell that this is a sort of hybrid between the Komfit, and the JB Champion - trying to merge the best of both into one.

Speaking of, the photos posted above are in fact pictures of the actual bracelet (not a mock-up or anything like that). We spent a lot of time working to get it right, and we are really pumped that it鈥檚 done.

Shoot me a message if you have any questions or reply to the thread. I鈥檒l try to keep up!

I just signed up for the updates on your website. Nice option for your Speedmaster or an Accutron Astronaut.

I think this is great, and I wish you the best of luck with this very exciting and niche endeavor.

Great! Need a straight end one too. And to have it expandable to fit a 105.012 is a very good approach, thanks for closing the gap 馃榾

I must say, I don't like any of them. What do you guys think is so good about them? Are they really comfortable of something?

Here's a period JB Champion while I'm holding a "reserve/spare" Fallen Astronaut artwork by Belgian artist Paul Van Hoeydonck...
On Apollo 15, David Scott placed an aluminium "Fallen Astronaut" sculpture near the parking place of the Lunar Rover, intended to commemorate the astronauts & cosmonauts who have died in the advancement of space exploration!

Very easy to wear but after a while the old ones tend to be fragile, some more topics on these steel mesh bracelets can be read here:

Very nice. I look forward to seeing the final results.

In my opinion, this modern take on the bracelet should have been done by Omega to accompany the new Apollo 11 anniversary watch. @Forstnerbands kudos for stepping up and filling the void.
