Sorry to hear it was stolen from you. Even if you didn't want the watch back I doubt that the new owner will 'fess up here on this forum as that would implicate them in the handling of stolen goods. This just opens up a whole can of worms...

Haha true, I was thinking more so if anybody saw it up for sale somewhere. I assume it made it's way to a NY pawn shop so who knows where it could be now

Thanks for posting and very sorry for the loss -- I feel like there are a few other spots on other forums where you can post the details of stolen watches also, just in case.

Good luck!

Currently getting my FOIS serviced at a local watchmaker after the crown and stem pulled out. The watch isn't passing the pressure test and appears to be leaking from the crown and pushers. They were going to look into replacing the c clip style pushers with screw in ones, has anyone had any luck with this?

is your watchmaker using a new crown and pushers or the old ones? Because these are meant to be replaced at each service by Omega. If reusing old parts to save money (or because he doesn’t have a parts account) that is the likely source of the problem.

They are replacing the parts. Water ingress seems much more common on the FOIS than other Speedmaster models. The biggest difference between the FOIS and other models in regards to possible water ingress seems to be the use of c clip vs screw in pushers.

Hi all, I had planned to sell my FOIS to finance the “Ed White” should I ever get the call from the OB. Now it happened and I bought the 321 but want to keep the FOIS as well. Is this sensible? It’s such a beautiful watch and I love the sword hands and the fact goes well as a daily wearer. Or are they too similar?

Fine to have both, showing the history of the design.

I've just experienced the same fogging issue with my 3 year old FOIS. Sent it in under warranty, fortunately I hadn't installed my Spiralwinder sapphire case back yet as this would presumably have voided it! Omega performed a "water resistance service" which included replacement of the pushers, crown tube and stem. Received it back after 4 weeks. These are the parts that were used (see below) - is anyone able to confirm that the chrono pusher part # is definitely the c-clip type rather than screw-in (can't find info via google search)? It would seem to me a terrible shame if the pusher design is inherently compromised, with Omega just replacing one failed part for the same item with a known fault, thereby dooming the watch to develop the same problem within a year or two ...

Here is a photo of the pushers that were installed on my watch, I would assume that they are the originals and that Omega would only service the watch with the original style parts.

This really has nothing to do with it. The 3861 models use the type of pusher that the cap is held in place with a c-clip. Same for many of the diving chronographs that are rated to 600m.

It’s likely that the seals have gone bad, as they all do eventually...

Good to know, thank you for the information Archer. I (falsely) assumed that the c-clip was the budget and less robust method of retaining the pushers.

Had the pushers replaced with screw in type, slightly thicker crown, and all the tubes replaced. Finally passed the pressure test. Picking it up tomorrow, keeping all the original parts. I'm sure some will think I ruined it.

I thought that the screw in type pushers require threadings on the case in order to be screwd in. If thats the case, not sure keeping the original pushers will add any value since they probaby wont fit anymore.

Are those even original Omega pushers?

There are models that screw into the case to retain the pusher tubes, but this is screw in for retaining the push, not the pusher tubes. No case modifications should have been performed. I requested Omega pushers. I'll get more info/part numbers when I pick it up tomorrow.

Hello to everyone. Had my FOIS on today and thought of this thread. Happy Friday from #95xx

By the way, a colleague recently purchased a pre-owned FOIS number 1498X which I believe is the highest numbered edition I have seen. Can anyone verify or confirm perhaps what ultimately the total production amount was? Would be cool to know what the last numbered edition was.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Picture day for me. Haven’t seen many of these in the thread. Found one of these lurking in my local OB and fell in love with it. I know it’s not a purist SM but I just love rose gold . Curious how many ever got made. This one is 9x. Think I’ve seen into the 200’s mentioned somewhere else.
