First omega in space moisture

Picked up a brand new first omega in space. All was good a few days but today I noticed moisture build up in the dial. It’s been no where near water. Granted it has been minus 3 outside but feels like a poor seal. Particularly when my 20 year old seamaster never had this issue. Is this a typical problem or should I be in touch with omega and or the ad? Quite disappointed my luxury watch is sitting in a bag of rice already. Appreciate your thoughts.

Welcome to the forum...

I had exactly the same, less than a year old. Phone Omega, they’ll send you a pack so you can return it back to them - I included my warranty card but they’ll give you instructions of what to do. They’ll perform a ‘water resistance service’ and return it back to you. Took 2-3 weeks in the UK and I’ve had no problems since. Bit of a pain to have to do but it’s really quite simple and efficient.

Good luck!

EDIT: I bought mine grey market with Omega warranty included and got it fixed with no issues. I’d skip the AD as they’ll just act as the middle man.

Okay thanks I’ll get in touch. It’s put a bit of a dampener of things. Pun intended.... if I didn’t have a girl wrist I’d of considered a sea master and maybe avoided this issue. The best part of a month feels poor form.

These things happen, for every one that gets moisture there’ll be thousands that don’t and it’s mostly the ones that go wrong that will appear on here. It could easily happen with a Seamaster - waterproof is waterproof.

The FOIS is a cracking watch and you’ll love it. There’s always time for a Seamaster in the future... I got one too within a year of the FOIS 😉

There is no such thing as waterproof in the watch world. Or at least not in the world we live.

Have fun

Yeah enjoying it other than the moisture. Missing my 90s bond sea master. Particularly since prices have gone up 50% on what I sold mine for. I guess there’s not rain in space!

A bag of rice just delays getting it in for service, which is what a watch needs asap as soon as moisture gets in. You would hope being new it'd be covered under warranty.

Just curious but was this sourced from Ernest Jones in their recent sale?

Get it into Omega asap - if there is a gap in the seal with moisture forming and air getting in you dont want the parts to begin rusting...

Yup called them today and they are sending out a pouch for it to go back in. Not had great luck with watches recently.
