Haha. Not me. Still love mine to bits. I'm also glad I got mine before the price of Omega watches went bananas. 5 years ago the previous generation FOIS had a retail price that was almost half that of the current one. The 2024 edition is a beautiful piece, but it's now way out of my budget.

Same.

I really like the new one, but there's something about how the subdials just appear from the deep black dial on the 2012 that moves me still. Plus, it looks great with pretty much any strap or bracelet, and I prefer the caseback, shimmery handset and white markers etc. Mine has run well within COSC since the first year I owned it following regulation by Omega, and is a comfortable wear.

Also, as above, I paid under CAD 5k all in for it back in the day. Not sure the new one is in my wheelhouse at over CAD 12k with taxes. Plenty of other watches out there I might prefer at that price

Still a beauty, and will still consider it at some point, but I'm a proud OG FOIS owner still.

Definitely not. The more pictures of the new watch I see, the less I like it. Orange lume (yuck). And the soliel dial in bright light is way too reflective. It makes the watch way too blingy for my tastes. The only improvements IMO are the crystal (which never bothered me) and the movement (which I plan to get via a Speedy Pro purchase next year). I fully intend to keep my current edition FOiS as a special occasion watch.
Have to agree with you regarding the dial of the new FOIS. I can tolerate a bit of fauxtina but really do wish Omega had left the colour as matt black enamel. It is supposed to be a tool watch after all.

I don't think that this is supposed to be a tool watch, but the "moonwatch" is.

Sometimes tributes are a bit loud.

Anyone else ashamed of owning the 2012 FOIS now that the new version is out?
The reason I bought my FOIS was because of its slightly smaller lug-to-lug and how it visually fits better on my wrist than modern speedies. The new FOIS is 1mm more lug-to-lug, which although is negligible for most, helps for me as I have thin wrists. Plus I like the unique beveling/shape of the lugs, as it's a throwback but also completely its own unique thing.

Good point about the lugs. From what I can tell, the first generation FOIS has chamfers on those straight lugs whilst the original CK2998, EW321 and the new FOIS don't. Agree that it makes the first generation FOIS a bit more special.

Looks gorgeuos, I like almost every detail on this new FOIS.
Maybe it's time for its own new thread?
Ya estás tardando, cabo.

Wearing mine today awaiting Hurricane Milton.

Bought it in 2016 and has been on my wrist for every major hurricane I’ve been in. And have been lucky with every one with no major damage, so I consider it my good luck charm. For all members in the path of this one, stay safe!

FOiS and are both safe. Can’t say the same for my neighbors trees (and her car, which is buried under that mess of limbs and leaves). My house and cars emerged unscathed except for some medium sized branches breaking off.

Have anyone been able to fit the Forstner 3861 style 5 link bracelet on the FOIS with alternate case endlinks or by filing the 20MM ones comes with the band ?

I have the Uncle Seiko one (US1479) too, pretty decent I reckon. However, curious to know whether it would be possible to use the 19mm Uncle Seiko end links to fit an OEM 3861 bracelet to the FOIS. Anyone have experience of this?

Alternatives are listed in the FOIS on bracelet thread ; https://omegaforums.net/threads/first-omega-in-space-fois-on-bracelet.96000/page-16

Another option for the 19mm lug width cases like the FOIS is the ref 1416 / 784 19mm end links. Dont know for which watch it was intended but it sure is a nice match with this FOIS.

Its a flatlink, just over 2 mm thick like the 10 cent coin, and while the endlinks are open, all the other links are solid !

With 3 removable links on either side with split pens, so real easy to change and with good reason as the clasp closing part is very small - and comfortable - the folding parts is much longer so i needed to balance it out as it sat to high up my wrist on one side with the original 13 / 13 links on each side.

So i moved 2 links from one side to the other and now its sits perfectly flush on the underside.
