No offence meant, but the Polar Looks very nice on your skin tone. Very nice contrast.

Haha, that's a really nice complement!!

Thanks mate 😀

I think I am going to purchase a 16570. I have been looking at it for some time now and this post is making me want it more.

In my neck of the woods, the local AD have stock of Explorers (I & II) continuously. (El Paso TX)
Last week a Polar arrived. Yesterday -to my surprise- they had in display a SS Sea-dweller as well.

An offer for the Polar -below MSRP- was extended and was kindly rejected. No discount in Rolex sport models the sales person said.
I'm a cheap & shallow pocket aficionado, so I'm still hunting for a nice one.

I got my 216570 in Toronto from an AD back in March with a bit of a discount. Rarely take it off.

I was in Vegas about 3 weeks ago and 3 of the AD's there had a polar explorer in their case (didn't see any black dials though). I hope they don' t put a ceramic bezel on that watch, the bold type numbers on the brushed steel bezel is such an integral part of the Exp II's look. I actually like it that it has a non-rotating bezel; seems like it would just hold up to daily wear and tear with more panache! I don't know if anyone else has this issue, but i've hit my GMT on so many things that the bezel actually has a little give now, if you were give it a little nudge. Sadly, the current 42 mm with those lugs wears too large on my puny 6.5" wrist, so I'm hunting for a nice 16570!

I am getting more drawn to a 16570 and even though my best mate has one I may eventually have to cave in and just buy one.

In my opinion, only two watches from Rolex are looking good with suit, shorts, jeans - Daytona and Explorer 2.
I would say only one: Explorer, since 1016 until 214270

Just wait till the next major market crash. The market will be swamped with people offloading things to raise capital.

Maybe happening sooner than later! Although I don't intend on offloading my Batman, I do keep an eye on what people--particularly private sellers--are offering them for, and it seems to have come down about a thousand in the past year, from about 11,5 to 10,5 now.

Exp 2 is not hard to get, actually I saw one a few weeks ago and an AD offered one while I was on the phone
inquiring on some DJ.

They'll be below retail REAL fast when it all goes south again...and it will. Pepsi don't pay the mortgage or school fees.

nearly 50 years of EXP II shows it was never a popular watch.
That doesn't change , the only thing is absent of other model makes some get whats available.

lack of availability on display means the current "stock" was sold, that's it.

try sell a 2nd hand EXP II and you''ll see how difficult it is.

In the last month I've probably worn my Exp II three times. I've been offered cash (full market value) for it twice.

I could have sold my 16570 10 days after buying it last July, and it's a black dial (supposedly non desirable, but everyone I know loves it).

In Europe at least, they aren't everywhere, mostly in 2nd hand dealers but rarely offered by private sellers.

I’m very happy to go against the most popular model. My Exp II is so functional and I love that it flies under the radar.

There are several watches that didn’t sell in the past, and are now really in demand and hitting record prices at auction...

I’m at the airport, happy to have this unpopular GMT on my wrist. 😉

She looks excited about the explorer II, we don’t care if some don’t like it.

In Düsseldorf last week
Available, but the price is more than 20% higher than what I got mine for 3 years ago! (Maybe FX effect I guess... but wow!)
