Normally, a ‘55 Caddy is among the last cars I’d ever want. If a ‘55, then I’d much rather have an Imperial or a Lincoln, honestly. And of course, I do dislike huge cars and they are all that. But then I spotted this car on eBay last month, where it sold. The memory of it haunted me, so I pulled the pictures back up. Be haunted. Tell me this is not incredibly gorgeous or admit that even you would take pleasure in cruising in it one warm evening or two. See, I don’t think I love it enough to want to take on the responsibility of it. But I’d love it if a neighbor bought it.
Gorgeous, yes. Cruise in it, not me. I don't really enjoy big cars or driving unless it's out on a country road.
I learned how to drive on a ‘55 but it wasn’t a Caddy. It was a blue Plymouth White wall tires, “power” steering, and chrome
I recently saw a TV programme of a 56 Caddy complete restoration. Parts were a nightmare. The total $ spend was over $150K, may have been more . This resto was obviously a labour of love with no $ limits. A great result but expensive even for an iconic vehicle.
