·I was hesitant to believe a shortages of Explorer IIs but was back at the jeweler that I bought mine from in March. They claim they haven’t gotten another one since selling one to me.
I stopped in to shop for an Oyster Perpetual for my mom and also received the latest Rolex magazine (Explorer and Explorer II featured). 140 pages with the normal Rolex propaganda but with some GREAT pictures. There is also a section on testing and validation that I’m looking forward to reading tonight.

·After calling 6 AD’s local to me, only one had an Explorer 2 in. Had to pull the trigger 😁 very happy man. Matte black dial was the one I was after too.
Can anyone tell how many links the bracelet should come with??? Feels like one is missing. And it was on display.

·Since rolex advertised the explorer 2 mainly the polar version they’re just no where to find now and the rumours of discontinuing the model started. I asked my AD here in OZ and they even have a waiting list for it now but not as bad as other SS models maybe a month or two they said. I think we’ll see a ceramic version of this model in basel world 2019 in 40mm version that would be nice.

·Sounds like maybe I shouldn't have used my 42mm Polar Explorer II as a partial trade for my Hulk this summer? I figured it would be easy to pick up another since it was the one SS Rolex sport watch that wasn't hard to find (at the time). Damnit.
