Oh I’m seeing same you and all are....that ‘honest’ EW thingy .... has been used to turn away from other honest EWs as well....To each her/his/its own, as always....collectors are as diverse as the larger population, not monolithic...which is fine....

The same eyes seeing this listing somehow fail to see what’s better....here...on OF

I know, I’m caught up as well,...the hunt, not the platter, the adrenaline, not the quick catch....

I've been punished :whipped: before for using the word, but I believe it's a beautiful watch.

I don't like the polished upper side of the case, otherwise it looks very good.

I will make a prediction. This will go for $11,000 plus. The stem issue is most likely simple to fix. The ding in the bezel not a disaster, the bezel still looks real good. It is a solid watch.

My prediction machine tells me it will go for more than $11,000, but not plus. 😁

Is that Nicolas Cage? If it is, you are right.

I'm not a watchmaker and definitely not an expert when it comes to Speedmasters, but here's my two cents regarding the crown&stem.
I had a similar issue and talked to my watchmaker about it, when the watch was serviced. The watch in cause was a vintage Seiko turtle. The cannon pinion was rusted shut thus it was very tight and the stem just broke off of the crown when the fellow I bought it from wanted to attempt to set the time. Keyless works also come to mind. Rust isn't the case here as the movement looks clean. My guess is that the movement is gunked up and all it needs is a proper service.
Good luck to those interested in this!

Still. ... .After a quick search here on OF for Ed Whites, here’s what seems to be here on offer ..... Doubt there’s any amount of drool for these (or Any behind the scenes price negotiations for these gems....Is there?

So what is it...Why aren’t these EWs on OF ‘snapped up already?

No hunt?

No adrenaline?

No ...... whatever.. [ fill in your rationale ] ?

No anonymity? You don’t need to tell everyone on OF you bargained hard, or purchased 😉

I get low offers every now and then and it’s not an insult [ to me ]. What did someone else say....THIS IS AMERICA ... though many OF members are not US based hahaha. So...bargain if that’s your thing 🍿

There is anonymity eBay seems to offer - price gets bid up without bidder intention to actually buy....that happens...

WHATEVER it is, leaves much to be desired on buyers / bidders Who are in the OF family....So ... glad this is a hobby for me......Although it is a concern though I’m not eating off these sales. Some could be. I love the hunt like the other guy, but at some point it should be easy to see some of these watches are much better that what is being chased on eBay......and yes, I don’t know the intentions ... of anyone...but this looks too funny not to mention ....

Well .... maybe OF should offer a new FS section For bidding ... where we can only bid? Not my preference. Or just stay as you are OF...cuz we love you and we love being able to enhange information for those who remember this or that..... Carry on smartly

Come on, the watch on ebay has a lot of "barn find" character, because the crystal is scratched. Wealthy buyers like this feeling of buying something nobody noticed and making a bargain... 😁

I mean...the watch on eBay is in better condition than the ones you posted. If you don't think so, then I don't know what I can say to change your mind.

Listen...to each his/her/it’s own as said already. But let’s have real talk. It’s not about condition at all. Gotta work off same facts....

quick looks ....

#dented

#who’sGonnaRelumeThatHand?

#Patina’dDoN ???

And the sold, sold at approx £7+ or so....

I don’t know what the magic sauce is. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Agree on that much

The magic sauce? For me it's this one:
