Unfortunately, Omicron is just exploding in the region. I'm still in, but thinking an outside venue might be best.
You are so gracious to offer your backyard!

Sooo is this still happening?
I think we are still to early to know how things are going to shake out with Omicron or whatever come next in this mini-series shit storm. I’m thinking it may be fall unless someone can work some cultural magic and get everyone to stop fυcking around.

Agreed…we as a household are extremely cautious and COVID is currently running its course through this tiny house at the moment.

I’m all for the get together, but caution supersedes. Let’s keep in touch and see where things go with this “shit show miniseries”.

Be well everyone.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it’s mild and everyone gets through with no more then a runny nose.

Apparently the 50k post area is just 3 guys sitting silently winding their Speedmasters all day and sharing cat pictures with each other.

Hi guys... Haven't been to a gtg in a LONG time!

Don't have the required 200 posts but I'm sure some members here can vouch for me... I'm in FL but I'm open to traveling to a fun meet up sometime.

Last gtg I went to was fun, but it was years ago here in FL.

Using my 200th post to say I'm a definite maybe. I am in Chicago but have friends in DC I'd love to see again and it would be cool to meet some OF members. I was in DC in Nov and they were redoing the Air and Space museum, so no Speedmasters on display when I went. Hopefully they will be back next time I am in town. I hope it all works out and we are able to attend.

I seem to remember a D. C. area gtg was talked a while back about but never happened. I hope this one may and I would love to attend.

NASM is going to be fully closed from late March until sometime in the Fall. And right now it is closed to due Covid until early March. The Dulles museum is open, though.

While we wait to see how the omicron and covid play out, I am tentatively planning to attend District Time on March 5 or 6 (or both!) that @connieseamaster mentioned on page 2.

Assuming that event goes forward, it could be a good way to hold a smaller / less formal GTG - although I'm only giving it a 40% likelihood I'll feel comfortable attending at this point with the way covid progressing. It's good to have something to look forward to though! I also have tickets to a small concert the following weekend, and I'm giving that event a 20% likelihood of my attendance at this point.

Yup, it’s pretty bleak at the moment. Even the most vigilant people I know are getting it right now. Let’s hope this is the last gasp before it putters itself out.

I'm down for a small, local, DMV event.

If people are bringing their Florida variants and Illinois variants, sorry, you can count me out.

A smaller/ less formal event works for with. A bigger one can be planned for later in the year -- one that would allow people to plan travel, etc. if so inclined.

I should be able to do something on March 5. The 6th is out for me though.
