I'm in. As an FYI, District Time (local microbrand watch fair) is happening in early March and I can double check the exact dates if people want to make it a double feature.

I'm generally location agnostic, but if there are lots of people driving in, I'd suggest a venue not in DC proper, but perhaps around the Beltway (Silver Spring, Bethesda, National Harbor even) since driving and parking in the city is beastly for those not used to it.

I'm interested in this too, but I gotta get to typing since I'm way under the 200!

District Time looks to be in the Spring this year (March 5-6 in DC proper, next neighborhood over from the museums).

I would be interested in attending but do not have 200 posts on here yet.

Saddle up, there's enough room on the welcome wagon for both of you. You can hit that threshold in very short order just by gently directing noobies to the Learn How to Fish and Posting Guide threads in the Vintage Help forum.

Just realized I'm mixing two horse-related metaphors. 🤦

I'll vouch for TheGreekPhysique. We have PM'd quite a bit over the past few months and I advised him on the eventual purchase of his very nice Speedmaster 3590.50 - which his wife will not let him play with until Christmas. Oh, the horror! 😀

Thank you for this!! And yes it is true... my wife has wrapped up my first speedy and hid it somewhere and won't let me open until Christmas morning. It's fair to say I am going insane.

If you are coming then we need to make sure there is parking right out side as it may become a vintage car event as well as a watch event! @BlackTalon - get that vintage 911 ready!

Agreed. North of the beltway up to Columbia could make it easier for our PA friends to make it an easy day-trip

Only because you are bringing a Speedmaster for everyone. If you don’t have enough to share…..

That would be sweet! There are a few local Cars & Coffee events during the weekend up here so we could also have a geared pre-meetup there if people were interested.

North of the beltway and up to Columbia is my neck of the woods so I'd be happy to help scope out a place when the time comes if we decide on that area.

We still have several months on this, so ideally as the time approaches we should map from where people are coming and drop a pin in the best location for all. If we have friends coming in from afar, we should also consider ease of transport for them as well.

Count me in as well! I'm in the Silver Spring area, so I'm open to travel anywhere in the region.

This event is sounding better and better

Man, talk about pressure! 😁

Lots of conflicting wishes for a location: in DC, not in DC, near Baltimore, near metro, easy parking, etc. And of course Covid is a wildcard, especially since restrictions vary between the various counties in MD and VA and DC. No restrictions on group sizes anywhere right now that I know of, but that could happen in some counties if the Omicron rates do not come down. Probably need a primary site selection, and a backup (or two).

Agreed, at the rate things are going, it may be a spring 2023 event. 🤬

Please count me in. Anywhere outside the actual district would be best for driving and parking.

I know a bit outside dc, but if restrictions allow, the Guinness brewery would be a great spot to meet up.

Unfortunately, Omicron is just exploding in the region. I'm still in, but thinking an outside venue might be best.
