Contact Jim @ Continental, he may be able to point you in the right direction.

He trying to bait you in opening up a proverbial can of worms. Notice the popcorn eating guy in his post. There is a lot of dissension among some of the more vocal forum members about whether or not to refinish vintage pieces. It's your watch, you have to live with it, do what you want and will be happy wearing on your wrist.

I honestly thought this was a trolling post. A vintage piece that has been unaltered for ~60 years is a rare and valuable thing to most people who care about vintage watches.

Cleaning a dial and reluming kills what many of us here spend time searching for.

I would love to see some pics and maybe some of us will be able to make a case for leaving things as is but as always people should do what makes them happy and there's bound to be someone close to you that can help get your watch to a state that will make you most happy.

I have used Herndon Watch and Clock before I thought he was a little expensive, but did good work. Just as a side note, he also helped me out with a pocket watch and some tools that I needed for a workshop I was taking at NAWCC in Pa. I have also heard good things about John Alabaster in Vienna but never had anything done there.

P.S. Picture of watch in question is mandatory. :D

I have used Herdon as well as Alabaster and prefer Alabaster. I have also used Dietzel in Old Town and have been very pleased. Swiss Watch Works in Gtown is decent too, but can be costly.

A pic of the watch will help.
