Apparently the 50k post area is just 3 guys sitting silently winding their Speedmasters all day and sharing cat pictures with each other.
So the legend is true...

As of now, District Time is full speed ahead (vaccination required for attendance). Indoor spaces in DC proper (restaurants, museums, etc) will soon have a vaccine mandate

The mandate actually started on Jan 15.

Yeah, I hear you. All the agencies want proof now. Each has a separate written questionnaire we are supposed to have with us when visiting one of the buildings. And of course they never ask to see it... But they do not have a requirement to actually show the card. Simply showing the card would actually be easier.

You can get a 5pack of these for under $5. They work well. My son got his messed up when he had to present it a Dead concert this summer and it rained pretty bad during the show.

It makes me wonder if/how much shops and restaurants will actually enforce this, or require you to show a card. Saw the notices to show proof of vaccination go up last week. I didn't go into any restaurants though.

Went to a restaurant with my parents a few weeks ago with signage stating cards must be presented. They were checking at the reception desk and mom forgot hers, but this sweet little old lady with white hair wouldn’t lie- so they let her in 😡
Not so sure how strictly this is being enforced. But I would booted my mother right out the door!

Oh man that's harsh, haha! This is a tough situation all around -- hope things get better soon.

I keep a picture of the card on my phone, 99% of places accept it.
Yes, my wife lost hers after her booster (may have been left there but they didn’t find it-we called). She was able to download her immunization records which have the initial shot and booster listed.

A lot of state health departments have a tool to generate a QR code of your vaccine record from their site, so keeping a picture of that on my phone has worked out well.

When I ran GTG's in California, I had the Omega Forums mods set up a massive private message for all the invites. (Normally, you're only allowed to invite a few people to a private message on OF)

You might consider doing this for three reasons:

1. Private messages notify a person more consistently of the current goings on. I, for example, lost track of this thread long ago and found it by accident again scrolling through the site. Private messages are more in your face.
2. You can share sensitive information about time and location. Set up polls. Give out rules. Share concerns. Etc.
3. It gives you a solid platform for future GTG's.

Anyone planning on going to District Time on March 5-6? If so, feel free to shoot me a PM. Maybe we could coordinate a time and day to attend and grab a beer after or something. I've already been in contact with one OF member who is interested in going on Sunday. The location is a fairly short metro ride for me though, so I could potentially attend both days.

The one thing I'll say I'm not familiar with any of the brands exhibiting here. Any recommendations on vendors that might be worth researching a bit before the show?

I will be there helping at the Bespoke Watches table. Not a brand rep, but I write for The Time Bum (who is one of the organizers and most of the writers are filling in for brands that couldn't send human reps), so definitely come and say hi 😀.

The show in general is definitely micro/independent brand focused, but one of the ones that I'm excited to see in person is Artya as they have some really neat conceptual stuff.

Excellent, will do, and thanks for recommendation.

Little Treasury is the GS dealer for the area, they will likely bring some impressive pieces.

I was interested to see the Traska display when I went in 2019. The watches were much nicer than I expected.

Looks like a decent location. Quite a few good places to eat and drink within 3-4 blocks.

Yeah this is a great location for restaurants and shops. If you haven't gotten your fill of playing with watches, there's a Breitling boutique at City Center (lots of high end shops) a few blocks north. I'm guessing the Hermes boutique would have some watches as well. Caps play Saturday, Wizards play Sunday.

Little Treasury is also an Omega AD (amongst many other brands). I've been to/bought from them and they are great to deal with.

This sounds like it's going to be a nice event -- it'll be cool to see all the micros, especially the 3-4 local ones that I had no idea existed. I think I'll be going but more than likely it'll be quick in-and-out.

Did anyone make it to DC Watch Time? How was it? Was wanting to go but last minute changes in plan didn't allow for it. This really looked like a cool g2g with good local brand representation and I hope it's around next year.
