I have a new-ish (March 16) GMT Planet Ocean Goodplanet - been in the water plenty of times - not a single issue.

Hi folks, I wonder what the outcome of all this was? The reason I ask is because I've had almost the exact same thing happen to me to say, but with my two-month-old Globemaster Constellation. I went for a quick dip in the sea and, although I treat my beloved 40th birthday gift with kid gloves usually, decided to wear my watch rather than leave it on the beach and risk it being stolen. This is ok the first time it has been anywhere near water. I spent a few minutes swimming (not even) and the deepest the watch would have ever got would have been 50cm or 18inches. When I glanced at my watch a few minutes later I noticed it had steamed up. Disaster. I immediately called the shop (Goldsmiths) where my wife bought the watch and was called back within about 20 minutes by one of the saleswomen. She told me I must have left my crown out when I changed the time when going on holiday (I didn't), and that although these watches say they are waterproof to 150m that means they are really just splash-proof (what, like an apple watch?!). I told her she was wrong and that there must be some sort of manufacturer fault. She told me they have a no refund no exchange policy and that the watch would have to be sent to Omega where they would reply within six weeks as to whether they thought it was my fault (upon which they would give me an estimate as to how much I should pay for it to be put right) or theirs (but she sounded like this would be unlikely because she was convinced I had left the crown out). I'm absolutely shocked and dismayed. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm worried that the salt water will destroy the delicate instruments. Thank you.

Sounds like you should get it to Omega yourself chap... Goldsmiths... yeah... don't waste your breath.

If you can call into an Omega Boutique, or call the UK customer service line, they'll send you out a shipping pouch and pre-paid envelope for it.

I've heard of this happening, and I've heard people say a little condensation in changing heat/light conditions is normal. But I've owned Omegas for more than 10 years and never experienced it. No premium watch should do this. It tells me it was probably assembled in the wrong environment - too humid for watchmaking. It's unacceptable imho and your taking it back to an Omega shop is the right thing to do. The only thing to do. I trust Omega. They'll get it sorted.

My first omega in space fogged up. Took it to the King of Prussia boutique with the warranty card. They told me I was more than welcome to pay $1,000 for a service myself. Quite disappointing.
Raynald Aeschlimann if you're reading this help a brother out. I've got a lot of your product.

Hold on. The watch has condensation, it's under warranty, you took it to the KOP OB with the valid warranty card and they told you that you would need to pay $1k for a full service? Something doesn't sound right with this story.

Email Omega directly from there website. If it is still under warranty it should be covered unless they have proof water got inside via misusage.

Was it fogged up when you took it in to the OB? It shouldn't make a difference but maybe they blew you off because of that, or perhaps you got a junior salesperson who didn't know any better. Take it back to the OB and speak to the manager, tell him/her it has fogged up and you want it taken care of under warranty (assuming you bought it new after July 1, 2018).

Did they give you a reason why it wouldn’t be covered under warranty?

I hate these threads where you never hear the conclusion! 😀

And I had invested a few minutes of reading before realising that the issue is from 7 years ago!

I do not think "Condensation" inside a watch is normal, especially for an AT. i would agree with you 1000%.

This is NOT normal.
