Sapphire sandwich all the way, no hesalite.

Why, modern watch buyers want wearability, they don't want their precious watch crystals to get scratched up so the 3861 will be a modern watch and not a nod to the past.

If and it's a big 'IF' Omega keeps the 1861 model then that will be the Hesalite version, but my gut feeling is that it will be dropped as I believe that Omega is aiming to have all watches METAS accredited.

My thoughts anyway.

Am I the only one who is hoping for at more classic case dimension, such as the new 321 "Ed White", on the speedy pro?? Maybe just as an option.

Know it's not gonna happen, but one can hope 😀!

while I agree with your questioning ... I have hung around here long enough to know that the source of information @STANDY (the well lubed and clean shaven (once in 6 months) desert-dwelling flop-and-thong wearer) uses is quite often correct (but as always, time will tell) ...

Hello,
since you seem really confident, may i ask if you have any official feedback or any info that you have heard?

Really thanks
👍

When the CEO of Omega rings you to ask what Boutique you want to send your speedy Tuesday from, you keep his number 😉

I’m hoping they develop a technique to use sapphire without the milky ring. That plus a ceramic bezel would be pretty durable!

The 3861 will replace the sapphire sandwich.

The 1861 Hesalite is not going anywhere.
I agree 100%. The hesalite is iconic and still sells, no reason to discontinue it.

For the love of god just put a new movement in it and replace the damn clasp with one that is more adjustable!

For the love of god just put a new movement in it and replace the damn clasp with one that is more adjustable!

Last year was “For the love of god just put a old movement back in and replace the new clasp with the old one”

They make a diverse range to please just about everyone.

Minute they changed it everyone would want the old one back.

I’m hoping they develop a technique to use sapphire without the milky ring. That plus a ceramic bezel would be pretty durable!

The thing is most prefer the Hesalite for looks and warmth of the view compared to sapphire (not just the milky ring)

From a marketing perspective you have the 1861 as the standard model.
Throw a 3861 in a LE to make it different and worth extra $$s
Throw a 321 in and make it worth extra extra $$s
Throw a 321 in and make it platinum and make it worth extra extra extra $$s

But you never 🤬 around with your gateway watch. 😉

To anyone who doesn't believe Omega could add £1K to the price just because of a movement change, remember that in 2014 they increased the price by £700 literally just because the outer box got bigger and the bracelet got some screws added to it.

If CEO of Omega says in the interview that "We will have the new Moon watch coming out. So, 2021 will be an incredible year focusing on the biggest pillars of our brand. ", to me it can´t mean any other watch than 1861 Hesalite Speedy.

Here's what I can share unofficially.

- anti-magnetic movement, but the same
- about a grand more
- new bracelet

The bracelet will be the kicker. Some will like it, some will not.

Expect an announcement before the end of the year.

It's a good effort and I do like it, but not even close to the design of the hesalite. Curvature/height is very different... At this point I think they have the means to do it at reasonable cost, but they just don't want to.
I think he was talking about the "milky ring", not curvature/height 😉

No ceramic bezel or WR changes?

Better antimagnetic properties points to 3861, which is widely expected. $1000 increase would cover movement upgrade.

New bracelet is needed, not much love for the current one. But it needs a discrete adjustment function.

Maybe they'll keep hesalite as a link to the past.

Can you disclose your source from this? Also, anything about downsizing the box?

Just a (photoshop) guess:
This could be the upcoming standard Moonwatch with 3861 caliber. 😉

Well, I hope the new bracelet will be something similar and without the crown guards would be nice 😀

Didn't get into those details. Those three items really stood out to me. Kept staring at the bracelet.

Did not hear anything final about the box.

Can't disclose the exact source, but let's just say, you do not have to take this with a grain of salt.
