Why would you assume that? Once they switch over to the 3861 as the standard movement, and an option for an even more expensive 321 for those that like to live in the past technology wise, there will be no more 1861 based Speedmasters produced. The number in circulation will be capped and although there have been a huge number made over the last 50 years, anytime a product ceases to be produced it tends to put a floor on the price. A SS 321 will have limited impact on the market because of number produced and the price. The expectation is the new base Speedmaster with the 3861 will be substantially more than the current model. So figure a bump from $5,350 to $7,000 range. They'll probably want another $5,000 for a 321 version, so it will be in the $12k range. The market for a $12k manual wound Speedmaster will be limited in my view to the collector types, and they are not an infinite pool. We will find out soon enough.
