Well there seemed to be a little pattern every few years of interest. The posts peaked every couple of years and then died down when there was a little info. It is an oddity. It's a good looking watch with excellent balance of shine and dull titanium. I've already had a lot of compliments on it, with a few folks telling me "if I were to buy a two-tone with gold, that's what I'd buy."
That's true I was never keen on two-tone/tri-tone but this somehow pulls it off . If I had to describe the colors the titanium is grey/brown the rose gold is wel copper/rose and gold of course and the the tantalum is blue/grey the tantalum is what surprises me the most in terms of different looks it can be really dark or bright blue. I'm actually surprised not more owners of this model replied to this thread I'm sure there are some.
Yeah, it would be great to have some more owners post, but they may not need parts questions answered. That's my fault for the title, so I'll take the hit for that one.
Luckily, Al squares away our questions. Hopefully they aren't too repetitive. Seems he's got a ton of knowledge and is a great resource, so thanks to Al for quick responses, good advice, and excellent knowledge!
Al is a certified Omega repair watchmaker so beside's having a personal interest in Omega(correct me if I'm wrong Al) he has acces to the Omega database of parts.
I still like to know a production number though.
I've also considerded buying a replacement case but it was late when that thought came to mind and I forgot it will not bare the matching serial number.
Weird that not more owners jumped on this thread, it's definately a conversation starter. And with the current sunny weather gives just the right amount of sparkle! I gave the bezel bracelet and the gold crowns and pushes a bit of cape cod polish and it shines like new again.
Sorry no before and after pic the pic on my wrist is the one where I already polished it myself. Looks good on you not a big wristed man like myself I see.
Nope, that's why I enjoyed the 36mm Datejust I had. It was an excellent fit. I actually just finished two renderings of a dive and dress watch design I came up with last week. A friend told me to sketch it and so I did a PowerPoint rendering since I have no other software or skills. They came out ok I think.
Cool post 'em! This watch is also the only Omega I ever got noticed and got a compliment on, even though I own several Omega's:seamaster 2531,2254,2231,speedy pro, flat jedi, vintage gold etc
So I'm going to do another rendering of the diver. With some changes to the hands and bezel. But so far I've gotten positive feedback on these designs. Not bad from PowerPoint.
But I wanted it to have blacked out hands with only the lume as the most visual part. That way, it has good contrast and is easily readable at any angle.
Is there not an simple CAD app for the ipad you can use? A friend of mine purchased a 3D printer and made a case for a skeleton unitas. You could do the same and use those for case molds
