Isn't Montreal is a high speed track? I expect Mercedes to be gunning for the win more than damage limitation if that's the case.
It does have long straights but also a chicane and a hairpin and a great final corner. So a mix power + downforce through slower corners is required. Certainly I expect the Mercs to be better on race pace compared to Monaco, but I think Ferrari probably has the most competitive mix of capabilities to win. Tire degradation can also be an issue and I think the Red Bulls might be able to do a longer stint on the hypersofts...not sure about though.

I think RB proved they are better with tyre conservation than Ferrari and Mercedes this season! Could be interesting

Red Bull has always been pretty dominate at Monaco though no?
They may in fact be better at looking after the tires but at the end of the day I have always believed that Monaco was a circuit where they always performed better than the usual for them.
Danny Ric. was untouchable all weekend and max probably would not have been too far behind had he not found the wall in FP3.

Also noticed that Will Buxton wears a Speedy.
This is obviously an old photo but I just saw it on him recently

He can be seen in the above photo asking Maldanado:
"...so exactly how did you manage to crash in your last outing?"

Looks like a FOIS.

I had seen him wearing a Speedy since the start of the season (I initially thought it was a Speedy Pro) but I had never been able to see a still shot as good as the one captured by you in this post馃榾

Definitely! But they showed it in other tracks too right? I think Ricciardo and Verstappen could drive longer stints than Mercedes and Ferrari on almost any race this year

I agree. No crown guard along with what looks like the OEM strap for FOIS.

Oh for sure! they are definitely up there with Mercedes and Ferrari.
But I'm just saying historically I think the RB camp has proven to be a real contender at Monaco, more so than at other circuits.

Yeah I'll cast another vote for FOIS since it looks like the correct hands for that model (and strap).

Haha fair enough.
But it's funny because I was looking at that yesterday and was thinking...that doesn't look right...oh well.
I will say though, in my defense, that I actually do know the difference, but I get lazy, which I know is bad, but I don't really care because this is just a message board and I'm not trying to impress any of you fools with my grammatical prowess lol. Plus I'm at work and usually just on here to take a quick mental break so I don't really take the time to proofread my work heh.
And the icing on the cake is that I was a "Professional and Technical Writing" major in college.
Never been a strong speller though!

Watching FP1 here and remembered that I had a dream last night that Kimi R盲ikk枚nen wrecked.
Wasn't any particular race, and I can't remember who all was involved.
Hope that doesn't come true!
But a weird dream to have haha.

I'm waiting for Max to have some sort of incident this weekend. He needs to keep his streak alive. Go perfect 21 for 21 this year.

He's fastest out there right now.
But I know that means nothing...just saying.
I hope for his sake that he can have an error-free weekend.

I still think it's funny.
But yes, talent is there, but something else is getting in the way of that...

His inability or refusal to evolve his driving style.

In case there is any question on who is going to win, I think we know where Minnie stands.

They are at the top of the time charts so far in FP2!
Well, one of them is...
