That's funny. You are right. Many of these have been offered lately. I don't know enough to say for sure, but when people start to sell it makes me wonder if they feel the price has peaked? Anyway, the people here will soon let you know if it is worth pursuing. I have learned quite a bit following their lead. One thing I've learned clearly is that at today's prices this is the closest I'm going to get to a 2998-1!

Is the curved S correct for a -1?

 

I believe this is an A4 dial which along with A3 is correct for a -1

I think either s ok.

 

The font for the "S" and "r" is correct for this 2998-1 dial.

 

If your referring to the "S" in "SWISS MADE" below the six o'clock position, it is correct. That is on the dial and not the bezel. Also, the letters appear to be distorted by the angle of the photo and the hesalite crystal. Or, possible degraded by the radioactive "SWISS MADE" RADIUM DIAL
It has a radioactive half-life of 1600 years!
