·I'm not sure, but it might be cheaper to put a new eta 2892 movement into this watch than to get it overhauled by Omega.
What a gruesome idea (I'll leave myself out).

It seems not everybody likes my idea...
Obviously, using a movement that needs a service itself would not make much sense. But I was surprised that for $340 you can get the base movement from Otto Frei (http://www.ofrei.com/page_183.html). The price of a new movement should set a limit on the service cost. Just like you don't fix a transmission if you can get a rebuilt one for less.
Maybe this is how Omega sets their service prices? If they budget in a new engine, they should come out ahead even in the worst case.
Sorry, slightly drifting off-topic.

R RMAIt tells great time when worn (Atomic Clock accuracy) since it’s service and polish. But the issue is when it sits winding down unworn after 2 days its at -38 or so before it stops.
R RMASo that sounds normal for it to loose -40 seconds or so before it stops after 2 plus days of sitting ? I’m comparing it to my 5 digit R watches that appear to be a -1 off even right before they wind down before stopping for example.
