Yes! That is the place. I looked it up on Google maps and that is the location we stopped when we drove from Beckenried (we stayed there for a few days) to Launterbraun for a day trip. We really enjoyed Switzerland, but WOW IT IS EXPENSIVE. We had welcome relief in Italy as far as costs for an espresso and a meals. But the beer (bier) at the supermarket was priced right.
It was an easy spot as we stayed there for some time. Great cycling and so easy to hop on a train or bus for a day out.
The Anglican cathedral in Salisbury, location of what is believed to be the oldest operational clock in the world (?). IIRC, the clock was built circa 1350, or thereabouts. Replaced by a “modern” clock during the 1800s.
Here are some of mine. Seoul, Korea I thought this was a rather whimsical image. Which is why I stopped in the middle of the road to take this shot. Hong Kong I think this picture represents the city pretty well. Bustling modern city with an old world charm. And finally, my home. Singapore
Great knowledge. Beautiful cathedral. I come from Ely myself, so we have a great cathedral here too. Due to get married in a Salisbury church next year. I’ll pack my Respirator to save myself from the Novichok!
On our trip to Scotland in 2000,we stayed at a b&b in Leven. The hostess was (or had been) a teacher, and her husband had sheep. I remember being awake at 3:00 am, and hearing a nearby tower clock bonging the hour. The Cathedral at Salisbury has over 200 tons of lead in the roof, to keep out the rain. Never quite got accustomed to having to pay to take a shower, while in Scotland.
A few from my ongoing trip to Iceland. The Mist beautiful country I’ve ever seen, you can find a glacier and an active volcano in à 2km radius...
A stop over at Saint Pons de Thomieres, southern France, well off the tourist route which suits us just fine.
