The Olympics starts tomorrow. Personally I like watching the Olympics because I get to watch sports that I don't really watch otherwise. I enjoyed the climbing and Archery last time. Gymnastics is always impressive. What about you?

Archery and Olympic Weightlifting because I've completed in them at the amateur level. I hope they actually put the full competition online... Usually these less popular sports are relegated to winners' bracket highlight reels.

But, I'll probably watch a bit of everything. I enjoy seeing absurd feats of human athleticism.

No favorites in the summer for me but I still enjoy watching. I enjoy the Winter Olympics a lot more. Either way it’s something I look forward to every time it comes around.

I enjoy the Winter Olympics too, especially the cross country skiing and the snowboarding. My wife is from Finland and I lived in Norway where the Winter Olympics is a big deal. So it's something we enjoy together. It's n TV all day in Norway, often work stops to watch the big skiing events.

I enjoy many but archery and beach volleyball are high on the list for Summer Olympics and pretty well love all Winter Olypics.

Equestrian, because my daughter has been competing for years and I know all too well how difficult and dangerous it is. She had a serious accident a few years ago that put her in the hospital in ICU with three fractured vertebrae and a collapsed lung. She was in surgery with a team of doctors and the DaVinci robot for five and a half hours. She still competes and loves it.

The Olympics have already started! Canada's women's team is playing soccer as I write this, and several matches have already finished. Argentina had the biggest upset for today so far.

Archery had the ranking rounds earlier today. Of course being a former competitive archer, I follow this closely. Bit strange this year, because it's the first Olympics since 1996 where I do not personally know the competitors for Canada, or the coach. My friend Shawn coached the Tokyo team, but found the travel involved in being the national coach to be too much, so he's back working in the private sector again.

We have 1 male and one female archer there - Virginie is 33rd after the ranking round and Eric is 36th. Was hoping they would end up a bit higher, but c'est la vie. Eric is currently ranked 5th in the world, and is the current silver medalist at the World champs, so he can do very well in the head to head matches under that specific pressure.

Very much looking forward to watching a ton of the Olympics...

I like most of the events, but not those crewed by professional players (basketball, football, tennis, etc). I enjoy watching athletes in sports that are not closely followed but which they put in enormous effort in training and dedication to reach the top of their sport. I have zero interest in watching LeBron James or Steph Curry play basketball. And I hope the French police and military have everything under control because there are going to be plenty of ratbag troublemakers showing up.

The1996 were the last ones I watched with any regularity and enjoyed it. Generally, I find the Olympics insufferable to watch. Maybe it's the coverage, the talking heads? I mean, there is a
good story here and there, a standout race or something, but I spend most of the time avoiding it. Kind of like politics for me. Anyway, not what you asked, but there's the other side. Good luck to everyone!

I never usually bother but being laid up postoperatively and loving all its forms I turned on the Rugby 7’s for an hour this afternoon.

Watched Dune 1 this morning and Dune 2 planned for tomorrow so that’s my marathon.

Track and Field for me, as well. There is a certain purity to the track events that I enjoy, in particular.

Swimming, water polo and gymnastics for me, but I find it all pretty fascination seeing athletes pushing themselves beyond.

Bruce Jenner won the decathlon in '76. Thompson was 1980. Track and Field is my favorite sport in the Olympics.

Look forward to when they add pickleball to the games 😀

Just hope the river is clear for them, or it's going to be a shitshow.
