IIRC it as a 25 pence piece (if that is what you called the coin), for 2 minutes of hot water. Must have given inspiration for the saying “save wafer, shower with a friend”. Same with the loo in a department store in London. But that cost more, as I recall.

probably a 20p or a 50p piece (both multi-sided). No excuse though, especially if you were already paying for a room.
