Spain (2019) - Gaztelugatxe (GOT's "Dragonstone"); Cliff by Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander (Gran Hotel); Bilbao
A bit further and you could have gotten shots in Girona where a few scenes were shot. SHAME! SHAME!

Our home base was Santander and it seems Girona is quite east. When I return to Spain, that'll be a place to consider. I mainly went to Spain coz of GRAN HOTEL (again not a huge GOT fan). Gaztelugatxe happened to be "nearby" and the shot in Ireland was work related 😀

Probably not everyone's bag, but here's my favourite travel shot. Taken before a cold, foggy dawn in Varanasi.

Here are three of my favorites from the past few years -- sunrise on Oahu (2018), the view of St. Stephen's from our digs in Vienna (2016), and a guy playing guitar in the Albayzin district of Granada (2019).

My daughter would love picture #3. She's a senior at A&M. My wife and I were professors there for 18 years before leaving a few years ago, and we still have our house in College Station.

Wow small world ! I graduated from TAMU in 2012, and usually make it a point to wear something related to the university while I’m traveling. It always seems to open doors for me , or at least start up a conversation or two. I wish your daughter the best of luck in completing her senior year. I haven’t been to college station in a few years but I do miss it dearly. Feel free to share the picture if you’d like, it got quite a lot of attention when I posted it on a former students Facebook page. Whooop

True story: I was in Brussels in the spring of 2011 and, after a day of sightseeing stopped at an outdoor table at a random corner bar for a beer and people-watching. The waiter asked me what I wanted and I told him that I wanted him to bring me whatever was good, that I trusted his judgement, and that I know Belgium has the best beers in the world. He was pleased by this and proceeded to bring me tripels, quads, all kinds of wonderful stuff in glass. A little while later, across the street I spied what appeared to be the same thing happening at a different corner bar. A man sat down, a waiter took his order but returned a few minutes later with a CORONA. Draped around this man's neck was an A&M sweatshirt. I would have flashed my horns at him when I left, but I was too embarrassed to be from the same state as that barbarian. 😜

Well while I normally would say saw em off... international travel would warrant at least a tip of that hat for a fellow Texan even if you are a long horn lol.
