I noticed that the Omega symbol is subdued on the right watch. Is that an indicator of something? Just curious...
It's applied metal logo so the angle of the pic is not capturing the reflection.

Like I said it’s a great price for either variation. I’d buy either for myself.

If you want to hold out for a deal on D so down the road it’s worth a few % more if you sell it then go ahead.

If your buying it for yourself to wear it’s a great piece.

I think it’s just the way the light is reflected, or not in this case. Does the brain trust know of any other difference between the C and D without the removal of the case back?

As far as I know, the date wheel is the only way to discern between a C and D from looking at the watch appearance. https://omegaforums.net/threads/does-my-smpc-use-a-2500c-or-2005d-movement.16059/page-2

Still, the 2500C still works very well if properly serviced. My Planet Ocean 2201.51 was running about +1.5 sec/day on average over a 376 day period, before trading it towards a SubC ND that runs +0.6 sec/day. After being serviced last summer, my current POLMLE runs between -1.4 sec/day and +2.1sec/day when I checked it five times over a 10 day period after it came back. I haven't felt the need to check the timing since.

Date wheel image borrowed off interwebs. Kudos to who ever put them together.
Left C, right D

Nice find, Sir!

Foo, I’m not a flipper so the C will rest easy and admired on my wrist for many years to come.

Larry, +0.6sec/day on your sub is astounding. I’m looking forward to putting my Globemaster through some timing trials and see how it measures up.

Cheers all!

While all POs are great, not all are equal
Love this model. I started getting into watches right when the 8500's were coming out. I still ended up getting a 2500D but if I could do it all over again I would have looked for this model.

Thank you sir, I do like the newer models as well but I’m more reserved in my ownership tastes so the glossy ceramic bezel PO’s are a no. I have glossy ceramic covered off with my SM300 which is a great and underrated watch in my opinion despite being used in Bond’s last outing.

I wear this one almost every day, and maybe once a week I rotate through one of my other watches.
