    My Fellow Watch Watchers,

I’m currently researching the purchase of a used PO. I’ve come to believe I prefer the black only, 2500D, on 42mm (2201.50 I believe). I’m not a flipper and am not looking to speculate on future value increases. I just thing this mark of PO is the nicest.

    I’m wondering a few things:

    - Are there are any dissenting opinions amongst this learned mob?
    - I’ve seen a range of prices being asked for these pieces and wonder what you believe is current fair value (box, papers, on bracelet, good condition)?

Any opinion, banter, or slander will be very much appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

    Aye,

    VG

While all POs are great, not all are equal

Sir, may I ask you which mark you think is more equal than the rest?

I would say 2500C as that was my first, and I still love it today. I do wear the 8500, I have it on now, I sold the LMLE as shown above because it just shined too bright. You will love the 2500

Was being a tad tongue in cheek there :D
Personally if you want a solid piece, the 2500D is a no brainer. You will hear a fair bit of 'future classic' noise to keep you warm at night too.
For me its the 2500 LMLE as above, its rarely off my wrist.
The current ones are just too big.

Thanks all, keep it coming! Any thoughts on fair market value for a full set 2500D (or C) 42mm?

A friend I ride with has the XL 2500, i'm a firm believer that is the perfect proportions for the PO. It just looks extra right.

Why not! I spam this place on a daily basis with it. Here's an awful pic next to newest arrival for size comparison.

The XL is a tad too big for my 7.5’’ wrists. It does look nice on my ankle, though.

As an orange 3313 owner I push the 42mm 2500 in black as you like. Some like the POLMLE the liquid metal 2500 variant.

The first generation PO’s the 2500 and 3313 are thinnner and tend wear better then the later ones. They also have great vintage design cues while not being a vintage looking watch and look thoroughly modern.

I believe I’m the one that first started calling these a future classic and stand by them holding value better then other PO’s.

Prices are all over the place with many people asking more for the 45.5mm one. All I can say is welcome to the hunt, and find a good seller with a good piece at a good price.

    Thanks Foo.

I’m looking at a this 2500D with a few extra straps (one horrible aftermarket, it appears to me). It’s on for CAD 4,500. Thoughts?

I’d like to see the back. But looks good. The fade on the second hand orange tip is common and not necessarily bad looking on these.

I’m not up on pricing currently, as I’m hunting other pieces.

As far as I can see the straps and bracelets all look to be genuine with the shark mesh to be a bit of a rarity.
The 2201.50 was also sold on the shark mesh but it was not a very common combination. And the model number would have been different. Looks like this owner put a bit of time and expense into this watch and straps. A good sign.
As for the price, if you can state it in US dollars for a better valuation.

Does it have the hologram? Ie the laser etched omega logo in a circle?

I’d expect a D to have that. I may be wrong but afaik the d was the later models and only the earlier ones had “sterile” backs with just the logo. I’d expect a d to look like this.... I might be wrong though.
