Late last week, while enjoying wearing the vintage Longines recently acquired from LesXL, I did that which is evil.

Anticipating a Texas "Norther" forecast for the region (otherwise hyped as a "Polar Vortex" by media), I replaced a cover over a hydrant after preparing a heated water bowl for backyard birdies. During the effort, the watch had oriented itself on the outside of my left wrist because I was wearing it loosely. The crystal snagged cruelly against the brickwork while adjusting the hydrant cover, resulting in a dreadful scuff with a deep scratch.

Working the crystal over with Mother's Mag Polish over a couple of days time, followed by a final polish with PolyWatch made the crystal whole again, if somewhat thinned so I am pleased to wear the watch to town for several engagements.

All better now!
Glad yoi manage to facelift it back!! If you don't like it, don't throw it, just give it back 😂

If I had to choose of just one year of Omegas at those time, it would be 1958. Beautiful just stuff …
I hope you'll include a cursive Genève too 😀

Another bittersweet day as I continue to pare down the overgrown collection. The last time wearing this pristine Enicar Sherpa Jet GMT exotic dial. Just shipped to its next steward.

Not much happening this weekend, so I'm celebrating past weekends.

Thankfully my wife talked me out of an M-dot tattoo. (She did not have to try very hard.) But Breitling doesn't sell a 38mm version of their Ironman Finisher Edition to fit my scrawny, triathlete arms. Fortunately, the original Ironman watch brand comes through with a fancy, stainless steel version of their OG Ironman watch, albeit technically JDM only. Not hard to acquire in the US, though.

I had two of the originals in the early 90s. One was silver base and the other was darker. The first was a birthday gift. I wonder where they are now. Back home in a box, probably.
