I haven’t been here in awhile.

The last two days have seemed like time stood still 🤔.

Wore this one as my mom had her last breath on Tuesday. She lived a long and beautiful life.

.
Just amazing!

Ruefully surveying the high grass of the lawn in the backyard. Mrs. noelekal has been hospitalized all this week with an excruciatingly painful ruptured disc. I returned home early this morning to gather more clothes and tend to some things. Of necessity it's been Speedy Week here so this photo about covers it.

Wishing a speedy recovery to Mrs noelekal.

Don’t blink ......you may never see another! Perhaps the rarest of the Ollech & Wajs Automatic Divers - A very early 1960’s Ollech & Wajs WorldTime Driver - Ref. 205 - powered by an ETA 2472 automatic movement. This rare version features a full 38mm Stainless steel case (vs. smaller chrome plated brass) and an ETA auto movement (vs the typical pin drive manual wind) as well as an early design Meco screw-down crown. The glossy 6-9 dial with sword style handset is both beautiful and rarely seen with O&W in their drivers. Add the original railroad style O&W bracelet, and this one easily gets added to the “Best of the Best” category!!!

Ollech & Wajs got their start in 1956, manufacturing and selling rugged watches at affordable prices.Their heyday was during the 1960’s when many of their dive style watches were sold to servicemen overseas during Vietnam. They also marketed watches named O&W “Precision” and O&W “Sportsman” with multiple bezels for various uses like diving, tidal tracking, and yachting to the recreationalist. They sold directly to the military man and consumer via catalog and/or print advertisement. Their combination of attractive price, swiss made movements, reliability & durability and attractive design made them a popular choice during the 60’s and 70’s.

Condolences dougiedude, at this time of your loss. Thank you for honoring us by sharing your loss with us.

We could tend to forget what is transpiring day to day in Forum members’ lives behind the watch photos that are featured in WRUW.

This is lovely! I owned an O&W very similar to this sometime ago, great watches. Is that an original bracelet?

Wishing a speedy recovery to Mrs noelekal.

Thank you ErichPryde.

I sit here at Mrs. noelekal’s hospital bedside today as we await her back surgery scheduled for Monday morning. Neither of us realized how intensely painful a herniated disc can be.
