··Home For Wayward WatchesHanging about the house today with a 1918 Elgin 19-jewel B. W. Raymond pocket watch in its white gold filled case on a blue braided lanyard by our own DaveK. His blue lanyards are the "bees knees" for use with white gold, silver, or nickleloid cased watches.
Pocket watches are great because they are a "poke in the eye" to consulting a cellular phone for the time. It requires about equal effort to consult the pocket watch for the time as it does for the cell phone , but the results are infinitely more satisfying.

·Comes the day you decide to change to a different watch. You pull out your collection of 80-odd wrist watches and scan the group. Nothing reaches out to you until you get to your Bulova Accutron Spaceview! Easy decision to make! This one is circa 1965. Every time I wear it in public, I expect the unedified non-collector to comment on the “unusual” watch. Never happens. But a dyed in the wool collector will recognize one from across the room,
