Sorry to hear this, let us know your area so that we can monitor local sale groups and report back if we see the serial. Least the community can do.
This happened in Clarksville, Indiana in the US

Hence the emoticon. But I think that chart was meant to be silly.

Is there any update regarding the video and gym?
Not really. The police have the subject on film at the electronics store. I saw a picture of him and I鈥檝e never seen him in the gym before so I鈥檓 guessing whoever took the items probably passed them off to this individual. The detective said they are still working with the gym but my guess is it鈥檚 a long shot that he鈥檚 caught for this. Hopefully karma is real and his comes back to him soon.

Renters and homeowners insurance would cover some of it if not all.
I checked on this. Since I didn鈥檛 have a rider for jewelry or watches they won鈥檛 cover any of it.

You couldn鈥檛 have chosen a better replacement. I have exactly the same model and wear it more often than any single watch I own, probably the closest thing to my personal GADA watch.

Out of interest, Did they ever catch the guy?
They did not. I believe once the bank replaced my money the police didn鈥檛 work much on the watch. I can understand, I鈥檓 sure they are busy with more pressing matters.

Why would the fact that the bank refunded your money have any impact on whether the police pursue the criminals?

Either way it鈥檚 just a shame that people do this. Glad you鈥檝e got a replacement now though! Enjoy and be safe!

I'm so sorry to read this. My heart goes out to you for the loss of such an important piece. I hope that the authorities will help track it down and return it safely to your hands.
As others have said above, do not beat yourself up about this. Thefts can and do happen even when victims take all imaginary precautions.

Terrible to be surprised like that at the place you trust and think it would never be happy. I always leave wallet in the locker cause that is obviously why the are existing.

I'm just curious how can someone spend that much money on the stolen card? Don't they need the pin code to use the card? Here (in Europe) it would be impossible to make such purchase without authorizing with pin code or bank app inlog.
I thought those times were gone when you could just make purchases with signature.

Anyway, hope you enjoy your new planet ocean 馃榾

Cheers Kapka

My white Seamaster 300 was stolen this afternoon. It was a 25th wedding anniversary gift from my wife. When I got off of work I went to the gym. Someone cut the lock off of my locker and stole the watch and my bank cards. Within 30 minutes they had spent 12,000 on my debit card and was denied on another 4,000 dollar purchase. I absolutely know better than to put anything in the lockers even with a lock. My bank has already refunded my money but the watch is most likely gone. I will chalk it up as an expensive lesson not to be a dumba$$.

Did a quick search and found this info.

If your Omega watch has been stolen, you can report the serial number to Omega, but they do not maintain a centralized database of stolen watch serial numbers like some other manufacturers. Omega does not systematically check for stolen watches when they are sent in for service.
