During lockdown I have found myself logging into televised auctions from Salerooms all around the UK. I find it interesting and its also educational as I can see which watches are selling for what price. Last week I tentatively bid for a quite unremarkable Cyma Cymaflex. I was the only bidder and I got it for under the estimate. The only problem was when it came to shipping the watch the auction house would only use their own couriers! This, as you can imagine was quite expensive and so my little bargain Cyma was suddenly not as much of a bargain as I thought. In addition to this I didn't even know what the mechanical condition was. What a fool I am. Anyway the watch arrived and I am pleased to say that I quite like it. Arabic numerals, blued hands , keeps time well. Happy days. I also learned a few things about buying at auction. Things I probably could have learned without purchasing the watch but hey ho. Anyway here it is. What do you reckon?
