At the moment, obscure Max Bruch violin concertante works performed by Salvatore Accardo with Kurt Masur & the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Well, you asked.

I'm relaxing, listening to Lunatico by Gotan Project.

I had never heard of then until a couple of years ago, when I saw them on Jules Holland's show, but it is great chillin' music.

The best way I can describe it is, classic Argentinian sound, played on modern instruments with some sultry vocals.

I love this thread. Nice to read something that doesn't result in us emptying our bank accounts on another grail watch 😁

Another concert last night, and this time I felt much better! Went to see The Hip (also known as The Tragically Hip) a Canadian band from Kingston, Ontario that is extremely popular in Canada...

This tour is in celebration of their 1992 album Fully Completely. It is a million seller in Canada (which is big for our small market) and the show started with a few other hits they had, then a small break, and then they played the Fully Completely album from start to finish. Then out for encores with a few more hits from other albums.

Here is one I recorded last night and one of my favourites from the album "Locked in the trunk of a car":

This one has some Canadian history in it - October Crisis, FLQ, Pierre Laport, etc. If you are a Canuck, you will understand...it was an awesome night. 👍

We're attending a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony this evening so are listening to a recording of it on CD, conducted by Daniel Barenboim.

Beethoven - Symphony No 6 in F, Op 68 (Pastoral).
Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, André Cluytens conducting, from the recording made in 1960.

If you can get it, a memorable performance.

Fly Me To The Moon 👍

Have you seen the new Sinatra documentary on cable?

It's a little stunted but holy crap it's good. Remarkable how a single man had so much influence on the culture of a nation for over 50 years. Icon is too thin of a word to describe Sinatra's import.

Old Blue Eyes was in the middle of everything !! He built Las Vegas and Palm Springs and got not one but (3) US Presidents elected!!!
