Last night actually, the 1808 Beethoven concert at Hamer Hall with the MSO conducted by Diego Matheuz. Symphony No.6 Pastoral, Ah! perfido, Mass in C: Gloria. Piano Concerto No.4, Symphony No.5. Mass in C: Sanctus and Benedictus, Fantasia for Piano, Choral Fantasy Perfect seats in the Circle, watching the violin bows all in unison, like bayonets stabbing the air, the warm wood tones of the strings, the flashes of gold as the brass raised their instruments, the rippling waves of white pages across the chorus as they changed sheets, and the occasional waft of expensive perfume from among the audience. All accompanied by great music. Priceless.
