What modern Omega watches have increased in value?

Why no love for an Aqua Terra Ryder Cup? Considering that only 616 were made, I would think that they might be collectable?
Because like the Orbis and very good looking ETNZ models no one knows they exist. Minimal marketing on them when they launched. If they have minimal branding and great colorways in a good size they have some potential. But the lack of love for the ETNZ models still surprise me.

I’ve said this before but the 2500 42mm PO Black with white numbers is going to go up esp the D movements. Great size, classic Omega details, with an unrecognized vintage inspiration and modern classic looks. The watch is only now being picked up on. Think long and hard would you want that or a 300mc with the vintage lume... what about in 5 years which will still be in style?

I think any high sort after Speedmaster Limited Editions will go up in value. Good examples are the Snoopy, Apollo LEs, and the speedy Tuesday. I never figured out why the new CK2998 (good looking watch) did not go up in value.

They made too many of them, it looks somewhat like a Daytona knockoff and it's overrated.

Considering the Daytona was a knock off of
the Speedmaster then things have come full circle. I’ll admit a few Speedies mimic certain Daytona’s but not the 2998. Rolex did not invent the Panda nor the exotic Panda dial with the single outer track.

I forgot to add the word "vintage" to my post. The CK2998 definitely looks like a vintage Daytona. Either way I like the watch, but I think some people get too excited about it.

Which one? I don’t see it. The double outer track and lack of offsetting third color in the outer track is not their like the exotic dials.

I think it looks like a speedmaster that got dressed up to go to a wedding. Is it a sports watch or a dress watch? I think that this is why it is not so popular.

I love mine. And I hear what you are saying. And that is why I love mine so much.

I agree with this actually - dark outer track, plain interior dial, dark subdials

+1, it's taking a lot of wrist time away from my FOIS.

I see 2 with more influence.

Granted the second only has the black bezel and red trim color. The first is obviously heavily inspired by the Newman.

All of the Omega’s are missing the distinctive Daytona subdials and hands which make Daytona’s hard to read. At least that is my take, and I can see the other ways to see it.

I will agree!! Guilty of both.

They made too many of them and I was so excited about it, that it was my first ever new watch purchase at the OB.

I don't know, I think it'll be another decade or so before the 2500D watches really start to appreciate - if they're going to at all. It'll definitely be a legacy piece along the storyline of the Planet Ocean, but right now, they're only getting a slight premium over the C variants. I bought mine for 3k four years ago and sold it this spring for 2800 - hardly a loss, but it turned out to be more challenging than I thought it would (excellent condition, all B&P, etc.).

Wear it in good health and enjoy! Like I said earlier, I don't dislike the CK2998. Hell, I've even eyed it up a bit. Just not how I'd spend my money at the moment. Of course if we all felt the same way it'd be a boring World with boring watches.

In my opinion it's not the fact that's it's limited edition that makes it retain or gain value but it's desirability/availability, look at the Daytona not l e but demand far outstrips supply keeping prices high. Silver Snoopy is a fantastic looking watch with some great unique features and a good story...........££££££££

I like the CK2998, but the color combo is a little too much for me. I'm boring and like black/white combos

I purchased an Alaska Project for around $5500 in 2016. Not too bad, but surprised to see the price hike. I wonder if it's the more recent exposure of the Alaska Project prototypes that were shown during the 60th Anniversary Speedy celebration. In fact, I'm just going to say that has a good part in the increase for most of these Speedmasters.

Hi all,

For me it a clean Early fried eggs round (yellow yolks) indices Bond 2531.80 with the bits and bobs if you can find one? Take the fantastic (heavy) bracelet off and exchange for black NATO and you have the dogs.

Only problem with those is that on the tritium model the fried egg lume often seems to fade a lot more than the hands on those leading to an unbalanced look IMO. I personally prefer the uniformity of the later Superluminova models like the 2254/2255 or post 1997 2351

I too think the 2201.50 PO is an under appreciated future classic in waiting.
