I bought each one below £3000... that was a good time for true collectors.

That's a serious speedy collection. Love the diversity!

Lots of Speedmasters in here, but let’s not forget the Liquid Metal LE Planet Ocean. Limited to just under 2000 pieces, trades at between 6 and $7k now - almost 2x from retail, and climbing from the last few years.

I have mine that don't wear and thinking to let go, I got the Sub fever as well and bought 2 of them lately... How much should I ask for it? It is mint and has an amazing numbering 0044/1948

...I stand corrected. The retail for the standard PO at the time was a hair under $4k. The LE variant carried a considerable premium with an MSRP of $5700. So while it hasn’t appreciated 2x as I embellished above, it is still trading above retail, which, for a Seamaster, ain’t exactly common.

My first real watch purchase was a 2254 which I paid ~$2k brand new for from Tourneau in SF. I sadly lost that a couple of years ago on my Bachelor party in Hawaii, and insurance paid out $2800 for it.

Not crazy appreciation, but not bad for a non LE

Why no love for an Aqua Terra Ryder Cup? Considering that only 616 were made, I would think that they might be collectable?

I think the 50th Anniversary "Patches" version of the Speedmaster are starting to go up quite a bit in value.

My guess is that if you're not a golfer, this one's not for you.

I am waiting for my albino to arrive. (Italian Limited edition of 500 pieces)
Has also gone up significanty the last years. Got mine below 10k but have seen them on offer for 15k and being sold for close to that amount.
Congrats on the albino! A rare gem

I think any high sort after Speedmaster Limited Editions will go up in value. Good examples are the Snoopy, Apollo LEs, and the speedy Tuesday. I never figured out why the new CK2998 (good looking watch) did not go up in value.

Seems like the initial frenzy for the Speedy Tuesday and the 60th Anniversary is cooling off, we'll see where they end up trading. In the case of the CK2998, they made too many of them, and it was the first LE released after the Silver Snoopy so many of the buyers were speculators, and the price fell out once the true level of demand became clear. It really is a good-looking watch on the wrist, though.

I think it looks like a speedmaster that got dressed up to go to a wedding. Is it a sports watch or a dress watch? I think that this is why it is not so popular.
