·For me that's an easy choice my great granddad's Model 6 Grade 89 Illinois made in 1917. It's not the best timekeeper that I have or the finest movement but it's a decent watch and it has family history.

·I like the variety too much to ever consider going down to one watch, except possibly very late in life when I’m locked away in some home and I need a watch I can read and forget about.
But I was a one-watch person for six years - a Citizen Eco-Drive chronograph that has kept ticking throughout, had a date complication and was 100m water resistant. A very practical, if unimpressive, timepiece.
If I had to choose one watch for all purposes now it would probably be an Aqua Terra - it’s a watch that really seems suited to any situation, can be smart, casual or sporty and lets you know what date it is. But why would I have just one Aqua Terra when I can have a C-case Connie, a Cosmic 2000 and a Bond SMP, which have all the elements and more in three watches? And I couldn’t be without a chronograph, or a military or two, or my gold-capped Polerouter….

·I would have to go with my Exp. II… I love my Speedy but I would have to have better water resistance if I had to choose just one. Plus with the date and gmt functions, it can handle just about anything that I can put it through.

·collection is a group. there is no such thing as one watch collection . i think a de ville or a constellation with atleast 100m resistance(if there is) can pass as a one watch for all occasions as these watches looks more casual. seamasters and speedmasters are too aggressive looking.

·For a thousand reasons, my late dad’s 1963 Rolex. Don’t even know the calibre but had it completely serviced three years ago and it’s worn rarely but starts instantly the moment it’s picked up. Just an amazing machine.
But for when it’s getting serviced ….
A Rado Diastar Electrosonic with tungsten carbide case and sapphire crystal. Can’t scratch it, can’t kill it, doorway resistant!, accurate to 2sec a day, perfect tool watch.

·Before you decide, tell me - could you even be a One Watch Guy (or One Watch Girl)?
If so, what would be your one watch collection? Or if you are already there, what IS your one watch collection? Is this one watch already in your multi-watch collection? If it is, why do you have the others?
I am really curious what one watch could do it for you. I sometimes dream about being a one watch guy, but I know my love of variety in this hobby wouldn't allow it.
I'll go first. If I had to reduce to a single watch, it would be the PO 39.5 I got last month. I have been chasing other, cheaper PO substitutes for several years now, and I finally said "screw it" and bought the ultimate watch, and it's amazing. However, I wouldn't want to dump the other 17, so I guess I am a slave to my desire for options.
How about you? Are you also a watch hoarder, or could you go full Marie Kondo and make the ultimate simplification of your life?
