Just keeping one watch from your collection...

Been contemplating getting rid of my collection and keeping just one watch... If you had to do it(say for financial reasons)... could you get rid of your watch collection and be happy as a one watch owner? If so, what would that watch be and why?

It would be a good debate if you listed your collection 馃榾

Would be unwilling to even consider paring down that far.

I'll play

I would keep my DJ41, the watch is so versatile it will cover virtually every eventuality.

But, i'm not going to go to a one watch collection, thankfully.

The FOIS is sooooo versatile but... don鈥檛 kill me... I think the Seiko Marine Master is the winner... I have a 6.75 inch wrist so whether the watch be big or small, they all fit pretty well. (Seiko MM300, UG Polorouter, IWC, Speedmaster, Seamaster Sparkle, 300M 36mm, Seiko Arnie). Thoughts?

I wouldn't know where to begin or where to end. You need at least three watches period, one watch can't be everything... it's impossible. You need a dress watch, a sports/utility watch and of course, the all purpose beater worn to hell watch... and that's just the basics ( so I tell my wife)

It's like saying, you have three children, get rid of two of them, and I don't care how you do it.

If I was in severe financial stress, I'd sell them all and use my iphone to tell the time. Looking at the one watch I kept would constantly remind me of all those I had to sell.

Thoughts, yes. If you don鈥檛 need the money (and you probably won鈥檛 recover your expenditure anyway) you鈥檒l come to regret selling them.

I agree with the consensus that this is lunacy. But, for fun: I think it would be my Seamaster 300 GMT.

I鈥檇 liquidate my collection for 2006 Ford GT. The problem is the price of GT keeps rising, for that, imma have to buy more watches to keep up.

But the one to keep is Breitling Datora, white dial.
(Excuse me, silver dial)

If i had the choice of 2 watches, i would choose the Speedmaster Professional (Hesalite) & the FOIS.

If i had to choose only one, i think i would go with the FOIS....
