I've been there a few times they certainly have the inventory but it's not anything to look at. More like a warehouse than a showroom.

Your supposed to pay tax to your home state on everything you buy where tax wasn't charged. If your state tax is 10% and you buy a $10 item on ebay your supposed to give the state $1 when you file your taxes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_tax
Here's another piece of useless use tax trivia...

If the state sales tax in the state you buy something is less than that of your home state, you're supposed to pay the difference to the home state. In the example above, if he goes to CA and pays 8% in sales tax there, if the CT tax is 10%, he is supposed to pay 2% difference to CT.

In practice, the only time we see this is with large purchases that must be registered, like cars, aircraft and boats.

Wow, I didn't know that one. I bet if it's the reverse they don't give you the 2% difference back.

Sales tax rates in California are partially set by the individual counties. It's 8% where I live, but 9% in Los Angeles, 9.5% in Alameda, etc.

For cars, you can't save money by buying in a different county- the sales tax is based on your personal address, not the location of the dealer.

I really don't know the sales tax rates in CA. The 8% was a total guess.

You bet! 😁

But not in Alaska, Florida, Texas, Washington, South Dakota, Wyoming or Nevada.

You forgot New Hampshire.
