Hi @Riviera Paradise

Like Totally Absolutely Agreed with the Conclusions of Part 3 !!
Is there a Prequel Triology or a post-Sequel Adventure?

Riviera. Your Coke Bezel RGMT M2 Ref number is 16710A not 16710 . The Bezel colour is more suggestive of the latest design of Diet Coke can actually !

I dont even want to know why you need 2 Rolex GMT watches in your collection !

One minute you're on CNN telling everybody the Beautiful Pure Honest Gerald Genta 70s designs... Then next minute you're live on MTV wearing a baseball cap backwards , an oversize gold chain around your neck & sporting a Coke or Pepsi Rolex that i see on the wrist of a lot of Hispanic & American African Rappers !

Why not a white or black Cerachrom New Daytona ?
Mr Engineer , isnt Aluminium bezel inserts old news now ?

Just a worthless 2 cents opinion from the youngest member in the House of Omega.....i think !

Love Your Thread Riviera !
Only 1 flaw ..Next time must hire a National Geographic Photographer !

Dear Megan...I think most professional entertainers who are into the "rap" genre would be sporting Hublots, AP Royal Oak Offshores or the newer blingy precious metals Rolexes with super shiny PCLs. The 16710 GMT does not fit into that category with the brushed bracelet and subdued dial/bezel combo (especially the red/black) see photo courtesy of watchuwant...

I know you have entered "jest / provocation" mode馃榾, but just to clarify...the thinner non-ceramic bezel swappable inserts is one of the key aspects I admire in what many consider the best ever GMT 2 released by Rolex period.

The 16710 is a "triple whammy" of elegance compared to the newer model: thinner case, bezel and brushed bracelet. Some don麓t like the bracelet versus the newer more solid construction, but I really hate PCLs so I don麓t care at all.

As I have mentioned before the 42mm Exp 2 for me is a pure casual / tool GMT. The 16710 would be one of my options for a true business travel watch GMT. If Omega does release a brilliantly executed Globemaster GMT at Basel 2017, I might delay the 16710 purchase...but based on the Omega麓s current design direction I am not really sure if "tasteful" is on the roadmap for 2017馃槈

I did try and find a 16710 during a visit to Tourneau on Madison, but they did not have any in stock. Another company I had considered were Element in Time NYC...but no one in the forum had heard of them, so I did not consider giving them a visit馃槖...and then Ariel Adams posts a story today of how wonderful they are....aarrrrghhh...bugg*r馃槨...why didn麓t he post the story before my NY trip!

I'm also seriously considering getting the IWC 3239... torn on which colour to get! I'd love to see your photos of the watch if you ended up buying it!

Also I totally agree with comments above - don't really have a problem at all with the ETA movement, for these 3 major reasons:

1. IWC don't actually have an in-house movement anywhere near this thin, so they're not going to develop a entirely new in house movement for one single watch series. Plus if they used their existing in house movements it would price the watch around the $12k range (if in accordance to the rest of their range), putting it as a losing competitor to the royal oak and nautilus

2. You're paying a premium for the Gerald Genta design IP. unfortunately it's just the way the world works... someone designs an amazing watch, everyone loves it, you pay a premium then for the design because the market price is set!

Look at Junghans Max Bill watches for example... very standard ETA movements that are un-modified, with a non-sapphire crsytal, yet the basic model is $1000, and they go $2000+! I think that's fair enough though, you have to be prepared to pay the price for genuine, excellent design, which has an intangible price tag associated

3. Service costs are honest and competitive, since everyone can service ETA's. When only IWC dealers can service in house movements, really they can charge you whatever they want, because there's no competition! some of the figures quoted for services are ridiculous from high end watch companies... $2000+? you can get a rolex datejust for that price!!
