Second Dibs, please!
Wow! Wonderful array of JLC Memovoxes! I hope to someday add one to my small collection. My alarm watch from Girard-Perregaux will keep me happy until a JLC arrives.
Super functional complication
I call this one grandpappy.
As of yesterday JLC has had my E855 for a full year. Can't wait to get it back
Since this thread is up and running again I will add the latest pics of my precioussss...
I bought this one about 4 years ago. The alarm on these are so very cool to hear, but this gets so little wrist time I can't even recall the last time I wore it. I think once I get my gold speedy this one gets sold.
I just have one JLC Memovox, but do have 2 'babies' that I also adore, the LeCoultre alarm watches...
Stunning examples would love to see that bracelet dougie
Here ya go:
Wow thanks that is by far one of my favorite combinations. If you ever get bored with it (doubt you will) let me know.
It's an all time favorite of mine, so I'm quite sure it will be with me for a very long time...
Rider I was trying to find a local UK watchmaker who could give mine a service (clean, adjust and oil) but there were no recommendations. If I do send to JLC do you know what the likely cost is likely to be ?
May not qualify as vintage ... but ... a cal 914 from around 2000.
To my knowledge they are unreasonably high especially for the lead times . But since they are in the business of selling products to people with more money than brains, they will most likely stay that way. I was quoted 1,500 to 5k. But luckily I'm not paying for it. The Arrangements we're set up by a friend.
Love this one what size is it?
This was in reference to the cal 914
The 914 is 36mm x 12mm . 18mm lug width and 42 mm lug tip to tip.
My wrist is 7 1/2 in
E855 oversized Memovox has the vintage charm and modern size.
Jaeger-LeCoultre: a Guide for the Collector by Zaf Basha includes them.
Fantastic piece. I have the same in black. My hands are not in great condition though. I have been trying to find a set of JlC hands but I 't been successful so. As you can easily imagine, I don't want to send my Memovox to JlC just for a new set of hands and they start by charging circa 1000 CHF to overhaul the movement. Then they replace requested parts.
Where should I look for these hands?
