Hi guys, i'm hoping someone will be able to help me identify the general period of this JLC. I don't want to try and remove the case back as it's spotless and i dare not risk damaging it.. TIA

Probably early 60's. Dial appears to have been refinished.

    Nice watch!

Thank you geezer! What makes you think it's a redial? it is spotless on the back, no wear to case or plating. Could be very good condition ;) (i'm here to be educated :)

I’m far from an expert but the automatic A looks off compared to the rest of the dial and it looks like the letters are light and dark as far as print goes on the word. Again would love to be told I’m wrong and it’s just a perfectly clean original dial.

Agree with @Geezer. It's a nice watch at arm's length, but close up you can see the tells.

The watch looks to be from the 1960s...the case looks a lot like those used for the 855 model. but the centre disc of the dial that says reveil is more modern. The 1960s dials had an equilateral triangle on the alarm disc as a marker (and usually no text). The marker on this watch is an elongated triangle and says reveil like watched from the 1990s onwards. Its a nice looking watch but certainly not untouched.
