Hi All,

I was recently gifted this watch from my grandfather who passed away some years ago. I am not planning on ever selling it and it keeps time very well. One of the buttons sticks a bit and the gold plate in the side buttons have fallen off and the case looks pretty weathered. I wanted to get your opinion as to whether or not I should send it to omega for a full service or not? I know they may change some of the original parts and I am torn about it. Also I don't know a lot about watches so forgive my ignorance. Any ideas is appreciated. I will be getting a new band for sure.

I am sure someone local will chime in soon and help you, but let me just say that your grandfather was pretty baller in his days 馃槑

I am a sucker for aged gold, so I would probably leave that alone...

Very nice.

don鈥檛 send it to Omega, where are you based and we can suggest a local ... or somewhat ...watchmaker who is kind to vintage watches.

Thank you guys so much. I am based in Orange County Ca. Yeah old grandpa had good taste. I would love some suggestions as to a watchmaker in my area so I can get it cleaned up and start wearing it.
Appreciate you guys

Welcome to the forum. Nice watch.

Look up D's Time Service in San Diego. He is authorized watch maker for Omega, so he can order any parts that will be needed.

There is a watch maker in South Coast Plaza.

the guy rocks he is buried on the first floor behind other stores in the old Sears wing. Not the cheapest, but has an omega parts account.

Welcome to the forum. There are a few of us in OC. I鈥檓 in NB.
