Incoming this afternoon - a 14900 on BOR in a lovely Ω box. The eBay auction had a 900$ starting price, and I was the only bidder. I never learn to understand bidding psychology.

Calling @Peemacgee !

Few questions on the dial: Are the fonts corret???

Are there serifs?

Chronometer O is off MOY

Star is off cross hair

Crosshiar exeeds the minute marking at 6

Here a 14900 from the recommended ebay sales section:

I have to confess that when I looked at this yesterday I had my concerns.
I generally agree with your comments plus the crosshairs clipping the e in Constellation and the 5 min hache at 7 looks inconsistent.
However, I’m travelling, can only view on my phone and the pics aren’t good enough to be sure and different dial makers do have variations, so I tend to stay silent on redials unless I’m certain.
I think hi-res pics or viewing in hand with a loupe is the key to this one.

I'd be happy to provide a better photo. As you say, there are dial variations, the gold 14900 above having a sunburst center. Until then, I have this photo from when I opened the box:

Well that goes to show how certain pics distort dials.
The cross hair/star looks more centred.
The 7 marker looks bettter.
The MOY relationship and clipping the e is still unusual but variations have been seen before.

I think a close inspection with a loupe is still the best option.
Best of luck - let us know what you find.

Until I dig out my macro gear and tripod, this is the best I can do 😁
I agree that the star is very slightly misaligned, but certainly within acceptable limits. Take a look:

It’s a strange one that’s for sure and like @Peemacgee i decided it wasn’t the place to comment.
Some aspects look spot on and other areas not so much.
Hopefully when you view through a loupe you can make a better judgement.
Fingers crossed good luck.

Looks strange to me, fail MOY test, no sunburst, the dial surface looks quite matte?? And also wrong crown.

Feel free to comment! It's a "show and tell" thread after all.
What irks me the most is the uniform base paint in the centre and between the markers. Normally, I would expect a brushed satin finish between the markers.

Yes, the crown is a replacement, no doubt. It is too tall. I noticed it before I bid - I got a correct replacement crown.
Not all 551 dials were sunburst, however. But I agree that one should expect a different finish between the markers, as noted.

Looks like a redial to me. Amongst other things I really don't like the e in Constellation touching the crosshairs

i'm actually really new to this forum, a new bie. Hope to learn a lot from you guys ^^. Anyways im uploading an omega piepan constellation case 168.004 which i bought recently. The case measures 35.7 mm which is big considering that most connies came in 34 mm. The sellers says that the dial has been re-painted (swiss-made mark is a bit off set) , apart from that condition is def quite superb considering its age. case might have been repolished, but i don't really mind cause its not easy to find a good condition connie these days. any opinions on the watch would be much appreciated. Thanks

i'm also curious on how much value is my watch is ? cause i wanna compare it with the price that i first bought it.

The other watch is a world war 2 era, 30T2 omega . (not mine )
