My questions concerning @felsby s 14900 were made quite spontanously,
if it was inappropiate posting them in this thread I would like to apologize!

1964 167.005 no date dog leg lugs in stainless steel. Gold indices with onyx inlays. Tough to find in this condition. I’m in the process of procuring a BOR bracelet for it.

That’s very unusual.
You’ve got to try and give us some better pics showing the Rose indices and hands against the grey dial.
Perhaps from the side a la gbesq’s pic above?

i'm actually really new to this forum, a new bie. Hope to learn a lot from you guys ^^. Anyways im uploading an omega piepan constellation case 168.004 which i bought recently. The case measures 35.7 mm which is big considering that most connies came in 34 mm. The sellers says that the dial has been re-painted (swiss-made mark is a bit off set) , apart from that condition is def quite superb considering its age. case might have been repolished, but i don't really mind cause its not easy to find a good condition connie these days. any opinions on the watch would be much appreciated. Thanks

i'm also curious on how much value is my watch is ? cause i wanna compare it with the price that i first bought it.

The other watch is a world war 2 era, 30T2 omega . (not mine )
The repainted dial hurts the value quite a bit, but as long as you like the watch and didn’t buy it as an investment piece, it doesn’t impact your ability to wear and enjoy it.

Only changes under direct sunlight.
I tried my best.

What a beauty🥰 Would love to see an updated photo with it on the BOR once you’ve procured it. Looking into getting a SS two-tone marker Connie myself and want to finally see one on a BOR to help me make my decision!

If you don’t find one in these 62 pages.
You might try looking here if you are after a pie-pan dial.

I presume by two-tone marker you mean onyx inserts?
Or did you mean gold indices?
Either way, don’t deliberate, just do it, you can’t go wrong with a nice Connie.
(But do lots and lots of research first)

Thanks for the thread link! New to the watch world (literally only have an Apple Watch...) but have been researching endlessly to find the model I want and what to watch out for.

The watch you have is exactly what I’m going for: dog-leg, pie pan, stainless steel case with rose gold or yellow gold indices with onyx inlays (date or no date). But you’re right, hard to find especially in the condition yours is in - congrats on scoring this watch! I’ll go for silver with onyx inlays if it’s in good condition and my patience wears thin with Apple casually ruining my nicer attire 👎

Thanks! It took me a long time to find it. Here’s my other Connie, a 1962 14900 61 SC no date crosshair dial gold cap. This one was a real find. It was an estate buy. The former owner bought it and almost never wore it - sat in a drawer for decades. It’s my dressiest Omega on a black alligator strap. It's completely original, unpolished and in mint condition. I only wear it for special occasions.

This is a reference that I looked for for 5 years. The scarce arabic rail dial 14381. I have only seen two others, and I’m still unsure whether this is the same watch as one of them but I’m looking into it.

To top it off, the collector I found who had this in his collection was located in Shanghai. 😲

I sent the seller a shipping label, Fedex picked up at the sellers home and shockingly the watch made it stateside to my door on the 3rd day.

Sat in a drawer alright. The lugs are sharp!

Posted this before but no harm sharing again!
beautiful and unique! what's the proper name for such a dial? not exactly a waffle dial?

These are commonly known as 'hobnail' dials and in more esteemed horological circles as 'Clous de Paris' 😉

First post on OF!

Would love to share my joy on fetching my first vintage watch, and will soon start a thread about this soon after 😀

Meanwhile a short question is that I heard that fitting the original decagonal crown (a watchmaker prepared that for me already) may not be a good option to tackle moisture problem (I live in Hong Kong which is rather humid). Is that really the case?

Thanks again and I am so happy about the purchase after researching for several months!

congratulations on your dogleg pie-pan
the crown on a Connie contains a gasket to maintain moisture resistance.
unfortunately, you can't get new hexagonal crowns from Omega.
If you have found an old crown, the gasket will almost certainly be less than efficient at resisting moisture ingress (probably perished to some extent)
If I were you, living in a humid place like HK, I would keep the replacement knurled crown on your watch (if it is recent -otherwise replace it with a new one)
There are other HK members on OF and they may wish to offer their advice too.
