very nice indeed @amuscare87 - lovely case.
Not cheap but most likely worth every penny in the long run.
Are they the flat onyx inserts of a solid gold dial I see there? i.e. making it a 168.006 deluxe rather than a 'common-or-garden' 168.005.

Additionally, I do believe the dial to be gold. It looks more “yellow” on the picture, but in person it’s gold

The clue is the broad, flat onyx inserts (as opposed to the regular ridged versions )

Thanks for the insight, then I think it’s a straight 168.005 as the inserts are identical to my steel version with the same onyx inserts

Apart from the marker at 3 (which does look ridged) are all the others ridged as well? ( they look flat in the pic you posted but it’s not always easy to tell from a straight on photo. )

Looks to be all ridged.

they still look flat to me...

Does the top surface of each onyx insert have a very distinct ridge ( ^ ) along the length of them or are they flat?

I understand now. Yes these seem to be flat. I had to look at my steel version to see the difference.

In which case you have a rather splendid 168.006 deluxe pie pan dogleg Constellation.

A unexpected bonus!

Solid gold dial ain't nothing to sneeze at as a bonus the way gold prices are going!

Super beautiful. The lugs are incredible!

Beautiful Constellations, all.

This is a "beater" 168.0129 (1969) that I left in kinda rough condition after a clean up and a service. Decided to leave the slightly cracked original crystal, the crown that lost its gold plating and the dial staining from 7 to 10.

Picked it up for short-money from an online estate sale because I wanted a rougher model that I can't be precious about (vs "the nice one").

That’s some “beater”. I love the C-case constellation, has a mint blue dial variant on brick bracelet which I sold to fund my recent purchase. Will get one back in my collection sooner than later

Just to close out my new purchase, I was able to source an 18k omega buckle as well with the correct hallmarks.

Very nice watch, suits the strap and buckle.

Thanks! Have a darker brown of the same style on the way, and a black alligator that I’ve had to be able to change up the look
