Here's the UG version of that watch:

They weren't the only one who borrowed that styling. One of our members Brad has a Tudor from '53 on page 2 of this thread (http://omegaforums.net/threads/vintage-black-dials-only-lets-see-them.1361/page-3#post-27568) that's the same look as my '58 microrotor.

I used to have a picture of another brand's Polerouter homage but I can't find it in my Photobucket acount. Here's a Speedy homage too:

Hi Neil, I know this forum is all about Omega but anyway, this is a 1970 Breitling Chrono Matic 2115 caliber 11 fitted with the original bracelet ( serialnumber 13xxx million) It's one of my favourite, really big watch or ca 47mm in diameter, been in my possession for many years. 😀

All about Omega? Not at all Stefan 😁. While certainly an Omega forum, we relish postings such as yours. Great shots of some fantastic watches 👍

So which came first, the Tudor, or the UG?

Hafis also did one near identical.

If Tudor had one in 1953....

Here are the two black dials I have just recently purchased. I was only looking for one but when two came along I was helpless!

I've got to try to justify keeping both to my wife now.

The picture is pretty rubbish, the dials look much better in real life. All I've done is polish the crystals a bit. I'm taking them to my watchmaker tomorrow so thought I'd take a quick snap first. I've got new crowns for them. Do you think the crown on the 168.005 is original? The plating has worn away and it has obviously been on there a while.

They were both running strongly when I got them but the 2782 has stopped today.

Thanks for any feedback.

Carl
