Here are my two: a Tag Heuer that I bought new in 1985 and an Omega from the late 1940s that I bought a few weeks ago.

I've still got the $1,700 bill for my 1680 Submariner somewhere from them... seriously need to find a quality watchmaker that doesn't cost the earth in Brisbane

The late 40s dial is really cool. Never seen that style before. Love the patina and color combo. Is it a 30t2? Looks awesome whatever it is.

Hi, I hadn't see that style either before I found this one! Here's a link to a thread I started about it to learn more:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/recent-purchase-havent-seen-one-like-it.59781/#post-743446
there are more pictures and info there.

From replies in the thread, the movement is a Caliber R17.8. (later called Caliber 300 series).
The case may have originated in the UK somewhere.
The dial is a two-tone dial with outer black zone below the minute track, the inner part is anthracite with the gold numbers "below" both dark layers.

Thanks to users JimInOz, X350 XJR, and mac_omega for their input on the watch!

I'm always drawn to black dials...

Here are a few of my vintage:

145.022-69ST straight writing (soon to be for sale unfortunately)
Rolex 1016 gilt dial w/ minute track
UG "Evil Nina" Compax

I may have posted this before [my apologies if that's the case]...the only vintage black dialed watch that I own...my beloved Seiko 6309-7049 that I purchased new in 1987 at the NAS Whiting Field Navy Exchange during U.S. Navy primary pilot training flying the T-34C. My 6309 was manufactured in December of 1986...so that makes it vintage since it's more than 30 years old, right?

My 6309 with my wooden T-34C model...

My 6309 today...
