A string of bad luck over the past couple of months has monopolized my focus; it's good to finally be back! https://omegaforums.net/threads/cela-fait-bien-longtemps.44656/
Not strictly UG and I don't know enough to assess its legitimacy, but an attractive one nonetheless. Sharing for your interest. http://gregoriades.com/product/1937...versal-geneve-vintage-chronograph-ug-cal-385/
great piece ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-S...830270?hash=item4b071c1d7e:g:nX0AAOSwZVlXwMLtPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network This one is even better. Not too worried about the movement. However, the bezel is going to be a pain in the ass to track down if you ever could! as rare as hen's teeth, actually rarer !

Laurent: I interpret your question as referring to a "ridge" or "lip" on the front the case, ostensibly abutting the outside circumference of the crystal. The piece you reference has been zealously polished, indeed. As to whether the polishing has removed the ridge/ring in question, I do not know. If memory serves, @aapalileo has a piece like this one: perhaps he can chime in. In the meantime, I've attached below a few other examples I found on a very quick search - perhaps they can provide some comparative reference, particularly in the event that I misinterpreted your question. Best of luck. View attachment 277442
Severin, you had my question spot on, "lip" is probably a better word. the examples you provide are showing a heavy polishing too..... I'm still amazed that someoene would do that to a case that looks fine...
Bummer! no serial number or reference, crystal is not great ... Great dial and set of hands though. Some parts of the Venus 178 were replaced. Does anyone know what ? A great parts doner if you have one already !
Did the seller send you a movement shot? Or how do you know that some parts of the 178 were replaced? Can you please share the photo if they sent you one.
YES. It's gold filled... But its NOS with paperwork! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-195...331224?hash=item2ef3d53298:g:cmsAAOSwFe5XybhhPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
