IMO, the papers doesn't mean anything since all the numbers from the back cover were erased, how do we know it's not a "put together" ?
I agree with your premise. There still might be hope for a potential buyer to confirm, however: the numbers on the 215 Polerouters tend to be located between the lugs on the side of the case, rather than on the caseback.
I think 3D printing watch parts could be a good business. Bezel, gears etc. Etc. Is there anyone out there who is doing this?
3d printing is no where near good enough to make convincing bezels, etc. And as for gears/caliber parts - forget about it. Will take a few more decades.
What do you guys think of this? Is this legit? http://momentum-dubai.com/collectio...products/1950-universal-geneve-compax-cartier
Or unsculpurously savvy merchants trying to make a profit . Cartier has a numbering system, if this particular watch really was sold by Cartier there should be some markings potentially on the case (perhaps the inner lug), it cost something close to a grand to get it verified. I think a seller peddling a watch that would normally cost 3-4K at best at almost 4x the price because of the Cartier signature should at least provide a proof.
The dial looks odd to me. Ah, and the asking price of 12,75k GBP looks odd too: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-G...276828?hash=item3f6a6a155c:g:qUEAAOSw9IpX0H73Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Its a redial ... Well overpriced for a small (34mm). Could possibly understand if it was an ovrsize with an original dial but that is (albeit nice) a franken. Good attempt to the redialer though ... It is close but still too far ... ps: nice buff on case !
The certificate amazes me ... Completelly deceptive and intended to allure a potential buyer into a false sense of security.
Someone living in a cave in France is selling this. Pictures are bad and you need to ask for more if interested. No link to the seller and not sure the watch is original with those pictures. https://www.leboncoin.fr/montres_bijoux/1003143792.htm?ca=17_s EDITED to add the pictures (not that they will be used as reference)
Cave photography must be the new thing. Here's one from a greater Toronto area sales board (Kijiji) asking 250 CDN. I'm not interested and have no knowledge as to whether it is real or not. Thought I'd share nonetheless for those of you might more closely follow this kind of model. Apologies in advance in case this is some sort of affront to common sense. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-jewelry-watc...ch/1194336481?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
