I'm no expert, but it has exactly the same dial as this one:

Even has a serial number on the movement, which is a characteristic of chronometer rated UG's.

Very interesting that both watches are being sold from the same city (Surrey, BC).

Calling @Bill Sohne on this one.

He'll know more than I.

Those watches are made for Canadian railroad workers in my understanding. And yes Bill would be familiar with this particular model!

I'm looking to add a nice gold Polerouter to the collection, i don't mind spending a bit but worried about getting stung with redials etc...
Any thoughts on this one on ebay, its pricey and the linen dial is growing on me but something about those crosshairs and the thickness/ clearness of the font is ringing a few alarm bells.
Anyone want to weigh in with their opinion, it would be much appreciated.

Cant see reference number but serial in the 2 mil range seems about right. It is a very nice and desirable Polerouter. I have no doubts as to the originality of dial and would add that it is pretty much impossible to get that finish on a redial. That is the reason why 99.9 % of redials are plain and featureless. A little pricey but I have seen non-gold models go for that ! 😉

Another great looking _ _ _ _ _ _ (for you to fill in)

If the word you're looking for has six letters I would fill the empty spaces with redial. And not a very good one

Possibly meant "just (need to) overhaul for maximum precision"
