Thinking about giving up on my dream...

My biggest regret will likely be committing myself to my corporation for 15+ years and looking back, having only been focused on collecting a paycheck. The only big benefit I’ve had is a work life balance, having worked from home since 2012. It’s healthy for you to question these things. But stepping outside what is predictable and easy will never be regrettable.

I don't have any sense of what kind of films you want to make. Or why someone should pay you to make them. Do a marketing analysis of the movies you right now would want to make. You have mentioned all the things you want...but that is the wrong question if you are thinking of making a living at this. The movie "business" is about doing what other people want you to do. If by some stroke of luck you become a successful money maker for a backer (Steven Spielberg), providing product that others believe they can sell, and for that reason they invest money in it...is that your dream? And the industry thrives on alibis..."why did I buy this schmuck's script or hire that actor, etc." To understand the business you fantasize you want to be part of is a rude awakening.
